    Incredible View, Underwhelming Accomodations

First and foremost, the view and surrounding area is honestly one of the most beautiful and scenic environments I have ever seen. The sideman area is absolutely breath-taking. That being said, the Villa itself was extremely disappointing. My wife and I planned on staying at Villa Idanna for two nights on our Honeymoon. We had planned to climb Mt. Agung on the first night and thought the Villa would be a perfect, serene setting to recuperate and rest. In actuality, we ended up cutting our stay short and left Villa Idanna after only one night due to our disappointment in the accommodations. Before I discuss the disappointing aspects, I would like to start with the good elements of our stay. On the positive side, the staff was extremely courteous and inviting. I honestly felt bad leaving early because they were so kind. The staff prepared wonderful meals and were extremely attentive to our needs. The pool was also beautiful and was probably the most luxurious aspect of the property. On the downside.....We had certainly expected the Villa to be rustic, and were well prepared for some level of "roughing it" given the facility's location and solitary feel. However, the villa itself fell well short of even our lowest expectations. We were disappointed to find that the bed sheets appeared dirty (some questionable stains were present), the bath towels were worn and seemed decades old, and the entire villa just had a worn-out and dated feel to nearly every piece of furniture or amenity. The bathroom was dark and dirty, the shower seemed more appropriate for a prison, the bed was uncomfortable, and the villa itself was not very comfortable or inviting. We did not expect this to be a five-star destination, but for the price level we had expected significantly higher levels of comfort and quality. Important to note: the villa is also "open-air", so there is a large gap between the roof and walls that allows open air to travel freely through the room. The same also goes for bugs. We killed dozens of large spiders in our 24 hour stay, and shared the space with some other (though less threatening) creatures such as geckos and frogs. Overall, this is not a very good option for couples or families looking for a luxurious retreat (as is advertised on its website). Villa Idanna feels more like a higher-end camping experience - you need to be the right sort of traveler: one with high tolerance for creepy crawlers, and seeking a MUCH more rustic-type experience. It should be reiterated that the views are truly breath-taking, but the honeymoon-caliber relaxation and luxury my wife and I were looking for just wasn't there in any way.

    A Lovely Relaxing Stay

We stayed in the Villa for the first three nights of our 10 night stay in Bali. It was the perfect place the completely unwind and relax. The Villa is a 90 min drive from the airport and there are only two rooms. There were another couple there the first night but for the last two nights we had the accommodation to yourselves. The room is large and spacious. It was fairly basic but clean and contained everything we needed for three days. You will encounter a few bugs but nothing that really bothered us. The location is stunning and we did the Grand Panorama Trek with two of the staff which we really enjoyed. The food at the Villa was very good and if you want to eat out of the Villa there is a small Warung about 100 metres down the road that does good cheap meals and the views across the valley are stunning. There is not much else to do other than spend your time lazing by the pool - perfect for total relaxation.

Amazing view, excellent service, fresh food

The view is exceptionnal, perfect place to be far from the rest of the world. We were alone in the pool with amazing view. The staff is very friendly and gave us a five star services. You don't have the choice for the food, only balinese and fresh food and fruits juices. Big dowside: the rooms and bathrooms. They need to be refreshed. It's seems to be the same since 20 years... Don't take the activities proposed by the hotel, totaly overprized! In conclusion : perfect place to relax and to be in peace with the nature. 2 nights is enough. Do not expect the confort of a 3 stars hotel. The time spent outside, in the pool watching the rice cultures and the volcan Agung is an exceptionnal experience. Excellent staff. But you have to pay the price of a 5 stars hotel for a inconfortable accommodation. That's the first time that we had an entire hotel for our family. We will never forget this experience ! If the owner could refresh the rooms and bathrooms, it can be the paradise...

    Beautiful views in tranquil setting

Villa Idanna is well worth a visit if you enjoy a natural & peaceful environment. The home cooked food is really nice and healthy and as part of the Manggiss group, the villa provides very nice natural soaps, skin and hair care products for women and men, a nice little treat to make you feel special. If only one of the two villas is occupied then you have private access to the pool which overlooks the view of Mt Agung, really nice

    Superb

Villa Idanna is a colonial style villa high in the hills of Sidemen. Very relaxing in a classical kind of way. We took the chance to do not much at all. All meals are provided there by the staff living behind the villa. Whilst the food was tasty and delicious i would only suggest more variety than chicken (in different flavours) being served every day
