  Noisy place. Its close to a very busy road, you hear the traffic until late. They told us the swimming pool was heated at 26°C. It was a plain lie: it was not heated at all:17°C The room is comfortable once you close doors and windows because of the noise

  Stunning ......

  Our second visit to Villa Lario and it didnt disappoint! The location is is beyond stunning and words cannot describe the view when you walk out the front overlooking the lake... it just changes continually throughout the day and evening from spectacular to stunning. The last time we stayed here we ate at a local restaurants quite a bit but this time we stayed in nearly every evening and the chef cooked whatever we wanted even if it wasnt on the menu... there just isnt a finer place to sit and have dinner in the world . The rooms are very comfortable and very Italian in their decor and the beds are super comfortable.The quality of construction has to be seen to be believed. How are anyone could describe the hotel as being noisy is quite beyond me as it is built like a fortress and has double glazed windows and roller shutters on the windows which make it so quiet you can hear your heartbeat. We didnt wake till after 11am as it was so quiet and peaceful . The staff are wonderful and pool is so beautiful and relaxing you want to stay there and not move all day

  Ssshhhh... dont tell everyone

  Very rarely do I visit a destination and feel the need to write an exemplary review but Villa Lario at Mandello is a perfect example of why I should write this. From the first moment of stepping over the threshold of this magnificent villa we were treated to five star plus luxury. The welcoming staff were faultless and even with just 5 rooms on offer you feel special from the start. We were lucky enough to stay in the Bellagio suite and breathtaking views of the Lake exceeded our expectations - really photos do not do it justice. Clean linen (a must in my books) every day, kitchenaid coffee machine in the room with more than enough coffee capsules, turn down service with accompanying thought for the day and chocolate continued our 4 day sublime stay. All the staff were attentive and considerate of our needs. To top it all off the food was beyond exquisite and the two nights we decided to eat outside were one of the best meals we have ever experienced. How can pasta taste so good ? Fine dining at its best. Lunch in the gazebo overlooking the lake just added to our joy - and loved the idea of picking up a phone by the pool to order drinks and/or any desired food. I really dont like to say anything slightly negative about the Villa Lario but it is a minor point and thats the decor of all the spaces all in one paper throughout. I may not be a professional designer but think it would improve the aspect of the rooms if this was professionally designed - just my humble opinion! Also a more accommodating after dinner and pre dinner drinks area but then the grounds are more than enough when the weather allows - dont let this put you off. I am already planning my next stay ... but please dont tell everyone!

  Amazing!

  We spent 1 night at Villa Lario Resort in july 2019 and regretted we didn't stay longer. Fantastic food, great cleaning, amazing locations, best service,,,,,,,,, everything was perfect! Defiantly going back there, thank you for an amazing stay!

  Perfect Weekend Trip

  My wife and me decided to go on a weekend trip without our kids and we chose Villa Lario because of the good recommendations online and the fact that the villa has only 7 rooms so we thought it will be small, quiet and cozy but still luxurious. We were really surprised of what we saw when we arrived especially of the rooms because we think the pictures online do not represent the absolute high standing quality of materials that are used in the rooms. Everything works fine, every detail is well-thought-out, the rooms feel just so comfortable that you dont want to leave any more. There was no money spared when this villa was renovated ..only the best materials were chosen. Impressing are for example the 3meter windows of the restaurant to the terrace which do not open like a normal door but rather sink down into the floor and disappear in the ground!! As we were arriving very late (after 22pm when the reception normally closes) we had a in room dining which was fantastic. For breakfast you can chose on a menu whatever you want as much as you want and everything tastes just great. The fruits are fresh and look delicious, the pastries taste like heaven and the service is superb. Here I want to give a special thanks to Federico which in our eyes did an extremely good job. We can easily see him in a senior position in a few years, he was behaving very professional and obliging. We have been to many 5 stars resorts around the world but he treated us (and the other guests) very special...you just feel good when he treats you. Same goes with Lurde, the receptionist who helps you with every question, is very polite and works very efficient and thoroughly. When we arrived she made several calls to make a reservation in a restaurant, unfortunately we arrived too late so we had to cancel this. The hotel can be very happy to have these two employees although we have to say that we had no negative experience with any of the employees. The access to the beach is phenomenal. We brought our two Stand Up Paddles and could leave them in a quite corner so we could use them whenever we wanted. The pool area offers a shower and modern toilets and changing rooms. Drinks and snacks can be ordered via a phone which is there for the guests. The water temperature beginning of August was 27 degrees. We hope to come back when we have the possibility to travel without kids. We would not feel comfortable with 2 small kids at the pool when the other guests are looking for peace and silence (it was really very peaceful and a nice atmosphere at the pool).
