    Beautiful setting

We initially only booked Eden for the first 5 days of our Italy trip as we couldn't get the altimincio for the full 12 days we were in Italy. We are so glad because of the two sites the Eden is by far and away our favourite. We arrived before 3pm and met the lovely Eurocamp rep who couldn't have been more helpful. Our accommodation was right opposite the eurocamp van and the view from our deck was just stunning. We had a full view of the lake. Our eurocamp accommodation was great, probably the cleanest we have had, a lot of time had clearly been taken by staff in cleaning it out as it was spotless. The site itself is a really beautiful and so clean. It is set on a steep hill with a pool and shop and resturant on the bottom and another pool complex, take away , park and laundrette at the top. The hill itself in the heat is hard work but there are places to stop and have a seat on the way and simply enjoy the stunning view. The shop is ok priced but their is a lidl and aldi near by anyway. The restaurant is lovely and the staff onsite both Eurocamp and the site staff were all really friendly and helpful. The nearby towns and villages are picturesque and the lake of the site is great as well our kids loved it. Eden was a happy surprise for us but when we return to Italy it will certainly be to here!

One week in Roan camp safari tent

We have just spent a week at Camping Eden. There are many lovely things about the site and a few which could be better. It has an absolutely fantastic situation with incredible views across the lake. It is nicely landscaped with lots of olive trees and other shade. The shower facilities are clean and there is always hot water with powerful showers. There is direct access (albeit across a small road) to the lake where there is a jetty owned by the campsite. There is a small but quite expensive shop but you can get most of the daily necessities there. It is a pleasant walk of around 4km into Salò where there are plenty of restaurants, sights to see and gelateria. It is also in a good area in general for visits further afield such as to Milan, Verona, Sirmione, Gardaland and other amusement parks. The staff all seemed friendly and helpful and would mostly speak in English to all guests from the outset (most campers seemed to be Danish or Dutch). We ate once at the campsite restaurant and had a good meal there with the typical range of Italian foods available. The site is on a VERY steep hill with the reception, lower pool, shop and restaurant all at the bottom of the hill and most of the accommodation much higher up. The few tents are all at the very top of the site. It would not be suitable for those with very small children or those who do not have a reasonable level of fitness for this reason. Unfortunately the top of the hill beside the tents is also where the main glass recycling for the site is situated and this was emptied daily between 5am and 8am so it was not a site where a daily lie-in was possible. The two pools are quite small although there are good slides for the kids (and big kids). As is clear in advance, wearing swimming caps is mandatory and this is enforced although the reasons for it are not clear. It is however frustrating not to simply be able to jump into the pool. The upper pool is also shallow at one end and both pools are quite small so this isnt the place for a serious swimmer although the graded depth at the upper pool is good for younger children and toddlers. By comparison, the rule that no ball games are allowed in the pool did not seem to be fastidiously followed. There are not enough loungers at the poolside for the number of campers and unfortunately it is one of those sites at which many families send their children up to the pool to queue before it opens to lay out towels and bagsy sunloungers. On the campsite we visited in France last year, the lifeguards would clear towels from loungers which were clearly unoccupied and this seemed a fairer system although I appreciate the issue of lounger etiquette is a problem everywhere. This site could be improved by: More sunloungers/better enforcement of lounger booking Remove need for swimming caps Consider effect on campers of early morning noisy rubbish collection Slightly larger shop The positives are : Location and view Clean and well maintained. Helpful staff.

    A Truly Beautiful place.

Our third year there. The lake and the site facilities are fantastic. Not just for families with small kids, but also teen-agers couples and the elderly. Camping Eden caters for everyone. We've already booked for next year.

On the doorstop of the lake!

I came here in a group of 5 and booked through Eurocamp. The campsite it across the road from a 'private' beach which was not overly busy! It was a lovely part of the lake. The shop is handy and inexpensive, we never used the wifi due to the reviews but topped up on data! We had a meal in the restaurant (OK), drinks on the roof (Good) and ate regularly at the pizzeria (great!). We felt no need to use the swimming pools and buy the hats as the lake was too great! It was a short walk from the harbour, which we went to at night for gelato and a walk round. We drove here from England, and travelled the small distance to the Lidl and to the other side of the lake to the Caneva water park and Sirmione. We would love to come back! The location is just perfect.
