  Good location

  Pretty good location- with a rather big shopping centre and cinema attached. We stayed in a 3bed room and it was pretty spacious. I heard from my relative in Haikou that the hotel was one of the rare few which had proper 3bed rooms (as opposed to add-on bed in double room). Some of the front counter staff were extremely helpful. We were there when the typhoon hit Hainan and the staff helped to make various calls to check on the train operations, if the hotel at our supposed next destination could alter the booking, etc. They even missed their lunch because they were busy trying to help us resolve our itinerary problems. I was very touched by the few them. Unfortunately this enthusiasm wasn't displayed by all staff. Some problems about the rooms; for both the first and second room we stayed in, the bathrooms were choked and water couldn't drain away. The rooms had the lingering smell of cigar although I specifically asked for a non-smoking room. But of course, silly me, this is China where smoking is so prevalent, the rooms still came with an ashtray. In fact, the entire building reeked of this faint stale cigarette smell. The door of the second room we had couldn't close/lock properly due to some misalignment of the frame and door. The maintenance crew who came were tad rude, couldn't solve the problem and taught us how to 'slam the door hard enough so that the door would close'. We requested to change room and was rejected. Other than these few issues, I'm ok with the hotel. They were decent enough and the location's real convenient and central. O, the funny thing about the shower- the privacy curtain for the shower is outside the bathroom, rather than the inside. Which means, instead of the person showering choosing to have some bit of privacy, it is the folks outside the bathroom who opt to draw the shower curtain.

  good modern room

  Check-in Lobby is on 8th floor, together with some restaurant and pub, and a cinema. Check-out took a bit long time, almost 20- 30 mins. Do check out early, if timing to go Airport. Taxi took about another 30 mins, and do tell the taxi driver International Terminal, as in our case, he dropped us at Domestic Terminal, which is different building about 600m apart. Rooms- clean, modern, spacious. Only, I can't understand the purpose of the 'see-thru' window to the bathroom? and, can't find a shelving or rack in the shower room to put the soap and shampoo. The shower room have no door, to prevent water from splashing out to the toilet area, while taking your shower. Service- general. I tried asking for sachet sugar for my tea, but was told by room maids it is not available. Location- hotel is situated on a dated shopping mall, which is quiet always, and, beside a office tower. Some food outlet just beside hotel. No night life around hotel. Breakfast coupon can be purchase at the reception, cant remember the amount.. think is 250yuan, and had it at the restaurant just across the lobby. You can have a drink at at night on 8th floor, couple of dining options too. Food and price is ok. wifi- no access to yahoo, google, facebook, etc, but ok for whatsapp. I consider it a close-to 4 star hotel, in China standard
