  Excellent hotel: friendly people and friendly prices

  I decided to break a road trip from Denmark to Holland by staying in Meldorf. I did not regret it; this charming hotel is located in the center of Meldorf, a nice quiet town. Free parking directly outside the hotel (although beware not to park on the - clearly indicated - marketplace, as your car will be towed). Rooms are nice and cozy, although mosquitos were a bit of an issue. People were very friendly, and the hotel's restaurant is highly recommended as well as food was both very good and cheap.

  Cosy and friendly

  Great hotel, stayed for a week on business. It was -4 when I visited and apart from venturing out one night (across the square to an Italian for a change) it had almost everything i needed. Breakfast was very good with an excellent variety, evening meals were very well cooked with a great selection and good quantity. It was always busy with people from outside the hotel, so obviously has a good local reputation that is well deserved. It has a cosy atmosphere and service is prompt and friendly. I would have preferred to have a bar area to go to for just a drink, although I was always welcomed and told to take a seat at a table, I didn't want to block it for those coming in early for a meal as I prefer to eat later. My only other small criticism is that there were no English speaking TV channels, in these days of satellite at least one would have been nice - apart from Bill Cosby when he was a teenager !!! Yes, I know I should learn German. I had one of the rooms overlooking the front, which was a large and comfortable room, - highly recommended, no bath but the shower was fine. As other reviews stated, parking is plentiful in the square or immediately outside the hotel itself. Would love to visit in the summer, and yes if I come back to Meldorf I would stay here for sure. Seems it's my luck to always be away on Valentines, so I did feel a little out of place with hearts on the table for one night !

  Very good!

  I've been there twice and it was a very good place, Placed on a big square with a nice church in the middle .There was snow , very very nice enviroment. Food was excellent as weel as Weizen beer. My compliments.

  Everything fits here..

  We didn?t stay at the hotel, but had dinner here before a concert at the Meldorfer Dom of the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation, to make sure I send a mail. Within a few minutes I had an answer from the hotel., Rare these days! Friendly service, a good bit of local touch! The restaurant has a "theme" for dinner, a great chance to enjoy local Dithmarschen cuisine. I chuckled about the desert choice, it's called "Sweet Aunies"(=Süsse Tanten), about five varieties of different icecreams in a glass with a different name of an auntie. Original idea! On a table near to us, a couple ate the Dithmarschen Mehlbeutel, a local specialty. I was amazed how the waitress went out of her way to explain to the guests how to "eat" this(a mix of sweet and hearty)..On the way out, the same waitress told I should come on Sunday, THE day to eat Dithmarcher Mehlbeutel! Now that is friendly service!! We enjoyed and will come back!!

  So today was the day where I thought I would like to treat myself to a meal at the beautiful historical town square of Meldorf . Hotel zur LInde was already standing out for me as I noticed that they do have vegan food. I went into the Hotel where a nice lady greeted me and asked me to find a seat. I choose to sit outside with the beautiful view to the cathedral. The food came really fast and was absolutely delicious . I choose the the vegan burger with sweet potato fries. It was really filling and served very nicely. I think in the future I will treat myself again
