  Fantastic late November stay at Almond Village in Northern Cyprus

  A colleague of mine stayed here previously and commented favourably about the hotel and North Cyprus - we were looking for a late break in the sunshine so contacted the hotel direct for availability and prices. Gulten couldn't have been more helpful providing loads of useful information via several emails. We decided to book ourselves direct (rather than through agent) and paid deposit via UK bank transfer. Almond Village is a fabulous family run hotel. We had a fantastic time staying in a one bedroom Garden Cottage - very comfortable and clean surrounded by lovely orange/lemon citrus trees. Because of the time we went (9 to 16 November) there were very few guests around to share the lovely pool and facilities - we were concerned about not being able to swim at the time we visited but temps were around 25 degrees C in the day which was fine - a bit chilly getting into the pool at first but quickly got used to it; at night the temp dropped to around 18 degrees. Breakfast was very enjoyable with range of cereals, fruit and choice of cooked breakfast available. We ate on several evenings in the restaurant and every meal was faultless. The hotel also has a fantastic free air-conditioned gym available to guests that has a wide range of equipment and weights. Also has spa and barbers that visits on Thursday but we didn't use either so unable to comment on quality/prices. We took the local buses into Kyrenia a couple of times - about 30 mins travel and cost 7 TL (approx £1) per person each way. Had a great fish meal in the harbour and also excellent Asian meal at Azra Claire's restaurant (see separate review). Recommend hiring a car to visit the local area and it you want to venture further afield would recommend trip to Famagusta and Salamis. Gulten was again very helpful in recommending places to visit and offering directions. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Almond village and Northern Cyprus - clean, well kept, and excellent value! Thank you for a great holiday.

  60th Celebrations

  Another fantastic time spent with 30 of our family and friends at the Almond Holiday Village. The warm welcome and amazing food make it extremely special. The facilities at the resort have increased over the years and each time we visit it just gets better. The pool is the centre piece and one of the cleanest I've ever seen and large enough not to feel cramped. The sun loungers are neatly placed round three sides and there are plenty so no need to do a towel dash in the morning.

  Little piece of heaven

  I have been going to the almond for quite a few years and the staff and visitors have become personal friends. Nothing is to much for this family run business and it truly shows how much love and attention they have put into such a beautiful place. This is and always will be my number one escape from the reality of life and a truly relaxing holiday

  Family run. Can'tsay anything but good. Fantastic. Been there many times at least twice a year. Serviced by 2 airports Ercan and Larnaca. Everything you could with forin easy reach. Large swimming pool on site. Enjoy.
