  Recepción muy amable. Camas cómodas. Habitaciones bien de tamaño pero horribles de decoración. Silencioso excepto alguna habitación que tiene el aire acondicionado del pasillo al lado. Desayuno muy flojo, tostadas con mantequilla y mermelada con café de agua. Servicio flojo. Lavandería de máquinas con monedas self service. Los hoteles en Australia son excesivamente caros y hay que buscar mucho para encontrar buena relación calidad precio.

  Muy caro para lo que realmente es...

  Tuvimos que coger dos noches en Darwin para poder hacer un tour de tres dias por los parques del norte ya que salen y te dejan al final en Darwin. Realmete era como un hotel de paso pero...el precio es excesivo para el tipo de hotel.... El desayuno es pésimo y escaso, la piscina es un charquito y el hotel no está nada céntrico. Hay que decir que Darwin no es una ciudad digna de ver pero es de parada obligatoria al hacer algún tour por la zona de varias noches.

  Fabulous Hotel

  we stayed at the Argus for a week in December & I must say that with the hotel itself i was more than impressed. Everything from the check in process to the housekeeping, Breakfast,Front desk staff etc were incredible. Nothing was to much trouble & We were made feel very welcome. Its also handy with woolies just a 5 minute walk away. The only dissapointing part of my stay was our visit on our last night to the hotels "Green Chillies" Restaurant. We ordered 3 Entrees which took over 25 minutes to arrive at the table ( During this time waiting there were many take away meals leaving the kitchen, surely take away orders are not taking priority over actual Dine in patrons ??) once the Entrees arrived, we received 2 chicken satay sticks with a tiny bowl of satay sauce at the cost of $12- absolute highway robbery( thats $6 for 1 stick !!) The service was average to say the least & after this experience I would not go back to this restaurant. The Argus Hotel however was amazing & I would most definitely stay again !! - A huge thanks to all the staff

  The best deal

  We were a group of 8 who were travelling on the Ghan from Darwin to Adelaide and were coming to explore Darwin for a few days before we left. The Argus Hotel is one of the hotels the Ghan shuttle collects from early in the morning. We decided to book the Argus for the night before the Ghan and find maybe a group house to share with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms on Airbnb or something for the rest of the time. I rang Edward on reception on a Saturday afternoon and booked the four rooms for 1 night. He was very efficient and quoted me a very good (immediately post-COVID - so they were probably doing deals) price. Over the next week, we searched for group housing of the type described, but nothing could beat Edwards price per couple. So I rang the Argus on the following Saturday afternoon to extend our stay, and spoke to Edward again. Once again, he put together a great package for me. I had reason to contact the Argus again before arriving (Rica, Cathy - about car parking and a bill breakdown) and they were all great. And to think, the room rate included a light continental breakfast - which was pretty extensive (juice, coffee, fruit, toast, yoghurt, cereal...). The rooms - and they us rooms next to each other on the same floor - were comfortable, clean, well appointed. Flat screen, wifi, desk, tea/coffee/ jug/ fridge, iron/ironing board, fridge, bench space, safe, wardrobe/hangers, toiletries. The shower is great; the bathroom could have been better designed in terms of the door, but thats only a small thing. Easy to find, by hire car or Uber/taxi. A forecourt to unload. Pool and towels. Good secure parking. Close to shops, supermarket, chemist, bars, restaurants, Crocosaurus Cove (all walking distance). On site Thai restaurant (which we heard first hand was really good). Just the perfect place in Darwin. Thanks to the staff!

  Nice new hotel - a few problems

  We had a good time staying here but there are a few things that could be looked at... the main problem we encountered was the bathroom door?? they have installed "fire" doors on the bathrooms? the pressure settings to close the doors was ridiculous. My wife had trouble opening the door and I found it very awkward to use. This door is probably the most used door in the apartment and the hardest to operate. It needs altering. They had a restaurant 'on site' which was rented by the hotel to the restaurant owners??? Their food was Indian/Asian just like almost every restauarant in that part of Darwin. A shame to have such little diversity. The staff were excellent and could not be faulted. Rates were reasonable. I recommend staying here but bring your arm muscles with you.
