  Excellent three day stay

  We spent three most enjoyable nights in a one bedroom cottage, which was very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The hotel grounds are peaceful and well maintained, the staff efficient and friendly. We had three splendid dinners at the restaurant, helped by our wonderful waiter, Derek, who liaised with the chef to produce an amazing meal for us on the last evening. Overall, a memorable visit, the only irritation being the inconsiderate use of mobile phones by some of the younger guests. Perhaps management could discourage (even prohibit) their use in the public areas, particularly the restaurant.

  2 bedroom cottage with our infant

  We stayed in the two bedroom cottage with our 9 month old for two nights. It was very spacious with great facilities including a proper fridge, freezer and microwave. The room had two cheese boards and you can buy cheese and wine at the restaurant bakery. I had a massage at the spa which was wonderful. Breakfast is a lovely selection of cold and hot foods although if you are a late sleeper like me you do risk missing out on the pastries! As lovely as the room and various experiences were there was one thing that stood out above all and that was how warm, helpful, cheerful and friendly almost all the staff we encountered were. This had such a positive impact and is very much noticed and appreciated. We have two longer bookings coming up over the next few months and are looking forward to them.

  Lunch with Friends

  We visited Bells for lunch on 29th November. Our group has been to the restaurant for Sunday lunch on at least 3 previous occasions over the last 10 years and because of our previous experiences, we were looking forward to another return visit. Unfortunately our experience matched the wilted flowers in the ladies bathrooms. Neither the service, food or ambience matched our memories. So sad and disappointing. We will not be back!

  Great stay in impeccable surrounds

  Stayed in an executive king suite for three nights. The room was well appointed and kept in immaculate condition. We had a large undercover deck with a table and chairs for two as well as a large lounger. The hotel is stately with well laid out beautiful gardens. The staff were all helpful and friendly in particular Leslie at the front desk.Though mainly an adults only hotel we were grateful that our grand daughter was accommodated with us for a night following a family mishap. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant was superb.The area itself in which the hotel is situated is gorgeous.

  Great accommodation with plenty to do around

  We stayed in a king suite. The accommodation was great - private, clean, light, plenty of places to sit, comfortable bed. The surroundings were nice. There are really nice walks around the place. There are also lots of good restaurants that one can drive to. It's the hotel restaurant that was extremely disappointing, one of the worst meals we have had in a long time as the food had no flavour and was really not a goo dexperience, which was disappointing considering all the reviews. The accommodation is a bit pricey but it's nice for a weekend away.
