  Very good accommodation

  We have just stayed at Birchwood and were very pleased with the standard of accommodation. We stayed for 2 nights in the upstairs studio. It was clean, spacious and well fitted out. Rex was very good to engage with and was keen to know that we were comfortable. We intend to return to Birchwood in early April and are confident that it will again meet our needs. Overall we rate this accommodation and location highly.

  A place to stay

  We stayed at Birchwood on the river for 7nights this was a wonderful place to stay all the comforts of home Rex and his wife were wonderful hosts the apartment was furnished beautiful and very clean and comfortable the gardens are amazing we had a loverly view of the river from our apartment , would definitely stay here again

  Very impressive

  What a great apartment. Only had a one night stopover before catching the boat but was really impressed. Rex was a really nice man who offered to help us unload the car right away. Great sized rooms, beautifully decorated. Bed was so comfy, better than ours at home. Very very happy

  Large apartment with personal service

  We stayed for two nights before boarding the Spirit of Tasmania the following morning. On arrival it feels like you have driven into a family driveway (mainly as you have!), but the service from the owner was very family oriented too. He met us as we pulled up and showed us to our two bedroom apartment. The owner lives on site and has converted the property to have two self contained apartments. Our apartment was large, had sea views, and was fully equipped. It is a little old fashioned, but very homely and comfortable. Location is very good for restaurants and Devonport exploring. Highly recommended.

  A perfectly relaxing end to a long trip around Tassie

  Privacy, comfort and great location with a welcoming greeting from owners Rex & Julianne, were just the icing on the cake after a month long trip around beautiful Tasmania with my husband Alan. Looking out our lounge room window at the Mersey River with the Spirit of Tasmania ferry passing by was wonderful.
