Nice hotel / nice staff / appalling booking system
Initial impression of the hotel is that its beautiful and am sure it is through and through: the dining room or what I saw of it when it was closed is breath takingly serene with views over trees that create an ambience you seldom experience in London or even Surrey hotels. However I was given a single room as all doubles were booked, (a good sign indicating high demand and lots of happy customers) but was disappointed after my drive to the hotel to realise that there was no bath: and single rooms are incredibly small. The room was also cold on my arrival which didnt coax me to stay in spite of the error on the bath. Aside from the fact that the ground floor toilet facilities were not clean, the hotel is basically clean and uplifting, however staff attitudes are highly mixed giving a very uneven approach to customer care. The lady on reception couldnt of been kinder or more helpful however other attitudes from other staff were convening. The booking procedure on line / on the telephone follows an awkward international calling centre trajectory where as soon as you mention your calling for a refund (based on their error) you get messed around with hang ups, can you call back in ten minutes owing to technical Problems, style comments and other time wasting shenanigans which imply that the buck stops with the agent who processes a refund. Overall this creates a stressful and time wastey feel which only stops when you put your foot down and tell them to either refund or stop Wasting your time. Such silly games shouldnt be part of a commercial experience and even the hotel staff are frustrated by their reliance on a call centre in India and they themselves also told of how hang ups are part of the natural course of dealing with them. I will see if my refund is eventually processed and update accordingly. Aside from that it seems to offer exceptional budget accommodation. I would however recommend booking directly through the hotel and paying a little extra to avoid the pitfalls of booking online which whilst for the most part are non existent I would imagine, when they occur as they did in this instance are painfully irritating. I will likely book again into a double room as the hotel itself seems beautiful and relaxing. Could be cleaner in places in public areas but even the room as I saw it was comfortable enough with clean bedding and all amenities included.

Absolutely disgusting
Booked room with double bed, got single. Ment to be free wifi with tele in room neither Worked, bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned. Holes in the wall, the carpet Had stains all over it and looked like it had come out of a skip. No hot water in shower when I tried to call reception no one answered so I went there and the very rude woman on there said, nothing we can do it's to late, this was at 6.30 at night. No offer to change room ....... will never stay here again even if it was a choice of here and streets, And I sure as hell wont recommend it not even to a enemy....... STAY AWAY

HEALTH HAZARD
What an absolute s### hole!! Arrived to be told the WiFi was playing up today, bit of a pain as phone signal also a bit poor but not a huge issue. Went to turn on TV and find out that doesn't work either as it needs WiFi! Made it sound like it was only today but looking at reviews has been going on for over 11 months. Then see in the corner a load of mould. Sit on the bed and the mattress is shot, must be years old. Move the scatter cushions to find one with a blood stain! To which I left and travelled home rather than risk sleeping in a health hazard!!

Appalling
My fourth visit this year - and for three of those, theyve had a temporary and unexpected problem with their wife and tv service which has me at neither are working. I begin to smell a rat! Reception staff were friendlier this time. And there was a good selection of room service food for evenings which was good. Cant comment on breakfast as didnt have it, but I understand that is available as room service also. Room was fine - nice that heating had been left on, so was warm in arrival. Shower was pitiful though .... really really pitiful

THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE CLOSED!!!!
Please heed this warning. This place is not fit for purpose. Its where I start!!! There were no checks regarding COVID in place so your safety immediately is put at risk. There was no wifi in my room and seems a common complaint from residents. Also in my room there were just 2 tv channels that worked but in some rooms the tv doesnt work at all. The place was filthy and disgusting just dont look at the pillows and the mattress unless you want to be sick. This place is tired and falling apart with rubbish outside and old furniture everywhere!!! It si disgusting. Many of the balconies are left in ruin and mine it was incredibly dangerous but you could see all the old walkways which were now overgrown with old railings now fallen into disrepair. There were no emergency lighting working with bulbs missing and various trip hazards if a fire this place you would have little chance of escape. The food is beyond revolting but if you need to be sick and ill then I advise you give it a go... Seriously I would avoid it. I have tried for months to get a refund it took 2 months to even get a reply!!! after various chasing. Please I beg any of you reading this do not go to this hotel it is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed and I have stayed in quite a few not so good places and I have reported it so hopefully it will in turn get closed down. Oh to sum it up its great being in the bedroom as it feels like you are in the next door bathroom so just hope that they havent eaten the dinner from the night before!!!! Or you will hear the whole thing!!!
