Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

First of all, this little inn doesn't charge the prices set by its online reservation partners. The owner charges whatever he thinks best. He doesn't understand that the price on the Hotels.com (or whoever) receipt includes tax. This cost me $12 or so. The rooms are acrid; our eyes watered, and we coughed. We sneezed and snored. The windows are little screen grates, square, like you see when you use the bathroom at a state beach. I'd imagine that turning most of these rooms into prison cells wouldn't be difficult. The business card has Psalm 23 on the back, which is fitting, since it does feel like you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death. Psalm 23 is provided free of charge, since even the Gideons avoid this place. There is no shampoo. Some of the outlets don't work. The televisions are 100% color TVs, none of this black-and-white nonsense. The soap is carefully hidden. The walls are thin. The owner's entire family resides there, living on whatever gossip passing visitors provide. They peer at you through the windows. Whoever makes the beds has a key to every room, which makes knocking on the door unnecessary -- she can just use her key, and the door opens, voila!

    Pathetic excuse for a hotel

My husband needed a place to crash before another round of business meeting, so why not stop at the Budget Inn, its close. Beware! Of course one must pay BEFORE seeing the room, so he did only to request a refund within minutes of checking in and it was refused. Room 121 smelled of must, blood, wet carpet. The "dresser" was caked in dirt and chipped paint. The carpet had a very large wet spot and of course a hole in the door. Needless to say he did not stay, it was preferable to sleep in the car. Next email goes to their corporate office.

great room, some other things need improvement

room very clean, very nicely decorated, had everything I needed, close to everything I wanted & priced right. staff very cold, not at all friendly, very noisy roudy neighbors in next room and parking lot very late at night. still would try and stay again I think.

    Rude Service

She was super rude to me and threatened me and come to my room after asking how many people were in my room after I told her I got a room for two. She also asked why I was disturbing her, while asking for the WiFi password. I am never staying at this place again.

Travelers Be Aware. Stay away from this place.

The Budget Inn of Dayville in Connecticut provided us with the most humiliating experience that one could have at a hotel. We endured such mistreatment on account that we were at the end of a long trip and had no energy to look elsewhere. The woman at the front desk was plainly rude. She informed us that we were to take the rooms as they were and told us that there was no one to clean the rooms and therefore we must clean it ourselves. Later, when we complained about the smell in the room she just responded go to Walmart and buy an air freshener and that is the end of your problem. That if we did not like it we could always go elsewhere we should have listened to that advice. We paid for one night at this joint and when we tried to pay for another night on the following day our debit card was declined. The woman was furious and said that if that happened again she would charge $25 dollars extra because the bank would charge her that much for declined cards. She tried again, and it was declined yet once more. At that point she pulled a pair of scissors and cut the card in two and tossed it at us and furiously said there were no funds in that card. We were speechless and unsure what to do next. We could not believe what just had happened. I called the Bank to clarify the issue with the card and the bank apologized and said that there was a problem with the card and proceeded to correct the issue. Then asked us to try the card once more. Then I explain to them that this woman had cut our card and the bank could simply not believe that such thing has taken place. I am still trying to figure out how such a place is in business on this day and age.
