  Christmas magic at Buxted!

  Buxted is just beautiful and never fails to surprise us! After 9 months of staying in, not seeing friends and frankly not enjoying ourselves.....we ventured out to visit the wonder that is the Buxted Park hotel at Christmas. Monsieur Desseaux, Andrea, Jean-Francoise and Rob treated us like royalty. Impeccable service and great to see wonderful friends that we have known since we got married there in 2012. The hospitality industry has been hit extremely hard this year so please consider it for a peaceful treat away from it all or just pop in for lunch or an afternoon tea. You wont be disappointed.....just look at the Christmas wonderland they have created!!!!!!!!

  Indulging at Christmas

  Spent a relaxing afternoon at Buxted Park enjoying afternoon tea in these wonderful surroundings. The hotel was decorated ready for Xmas and looking at its most enchanting. Fantastic service as always. Thanks to Marc and the team. Really would recommend it.

  Extra Effort at Covid Christmas

  We had stayed at Buxted Park Hotel last Christmas and had wanted to come back this year. But what a difference! Last year the hotel was nearly full. This year it was due to enter Tier 4 on Boxing Day and many people had to cancel. We had booked a 3-night stay, but it had to be reduced to two. Still, the hotel was as good as it was last year and all of the staff pulled together to make this Christmas a comfortable and memorable experience. The hotel was beautifully decorated in the public areas and there were Christmas trees everywhere. The staff were as friendly as ever, but were also very observant of all the Covid restrictions: everyone wore masks and there was santiizer in very many locations. Meals were set out very differently from before: we had one assigned table in the Orangery for the entire stay (with good distances from other guests). The quality of the food was superb (as before), with delicious menus: lamb on Christmas Eve and Turkey on Christmas day. Service was very attentive and the Head Waiter was very proud (justifiably) of his choice of wines to go with the food. Unfortunately, the Tier 4 lockdown meant that the stay over Boxing Day night and the Boxing Day evening meal had to be cancelled. The hotel arranged a refund painlessly and made up the ingredients of the evening meal as a take-away so that we could cook it at home. (It was delicious-- smoked salmon, guinea fowl with exotic trimmings and a chocolate dessert). It was a pity that the Covid restrictions came in right in the middle of the stay, but the hotel coped admirably. Every member of the staff we encountered was trying hard to make this an excellent Christmas in spite of the restrictions. We hope to spend next Christmas at Buxted Park Hotel, without restrictions.

  Take away tea and finish- at- home dinner.

  We bought afternoon tea for two and also a finish at home dinner ( which we ate on separate days!) The standard of cooking was fantastic, you could tell that the chef was doing his best to make excellent food. All of the cakes, scones and sandwiches were delicious, but we needed to add more cream because one small ball of clotted cream is not enough for 4 scones! The dinner was amazing, and soooo generous, with sauces, side dishes and extras, including 3 deserts. This was a treat for my birthday weekend and it didn't disappoint, so thank you very much.

  Fantastic Christmas Lunch (takeaway) from Buxted Park

  We were fortunate enough to be indulgent at Christmas and recieve a fantastic takeaway Christmas Lunch from Buxted Park! All prepared - just need to cook! So straight forward - easy to follow instructions and the result was a delicious Christmas Lunch. Having eaten at Buxted Park before, the food is never a disappointment and when staying the wonderful staff go above and beyond to make everything perfect! Compliments and thanks to the chefs! Well done and thank you to the staff!
