  Llegamos allí después de un largo viaje desde Cuc Phuong y la verdad la situación del sitio es increíble,en medio de la naturaleza y entre montañas. Nos alejamos en uno de los nuevos bungalows, en concreto en los dobles, que aunque estan muy bien, ya que solo estas allí para dormir, se quedan un poco pequeños para personad que viajan con mucho equipaje como es nuestro caso. Si tuviera que volver a ir, me alejaría en los bungalow familiares sin lugar a dudas. Esta situado a 20 minutos de Cat Ba y a otro 20 de uno de los puertos del ferry. Lo mejor del hotel sin duda, su gerente, me ayudó desde el momento uno que contacte con el por otro asunto, ya que también tiene una agencia de excursiones y casualidades me ofreció diferentes hoteles, sin decirme que era el gerente de eco lodge. Al final nos ha ayudado en todo y le doy un 10 por su atención y profesionalidad.

  Good hospitality

  Hi there! We just had 3 night stay at the ecolodge. The service was great! It is a quiet retreat from the busy town. The pool is good. The food is ok. And the rooms are very nice. Thanx to lam we had a great stay

  Not really that!

  Reviews were correct! Antw in bed .... changed room to cubicle like chalet with broken shower and Floor times. Airconditioning /heating worked well. Very isolated so we had breakfast and dinner there which were ok. People very friendly and ready to help you. We stopped there because was organised Tour but would have preferred other hotel. This is definitely not a ecolodge RESORT.

  Beautiful option to get away from the crowds

  When you start doing research into Cat Ba island lodging, you'll find three broad options: in-town (think louder, less expensive, less "natural" but with lots of amenities nearby; out of town (like Cat Ba Eco Lodge) with PEACE, beauty and space, but without nearby amenities meaning you take your meals at the property - all at a slightly higher price but at a better value for the service level; finally you can stay in one of the resorts on smaller islands. For our group, we chose Cat Ba Eco Lodge and were pleased with our decision. The lodge will pick you up from the ferry port (which is not in Cat Ba town) but requires coordination. There is a fee for that service but it is reasonable. The resort is located about 2-3 kilometers from any other towns or villages so you might expect to have your meals at the property. That's what we generally did. The food was excellent. There might be a "tourist" mark-up for the food being all prepared at the property but it wasn't outrageous at all and it was fresh and delicious. I'm actually not sure if there's a menu. We just spoke to the staff every day and they told us what they recommended and what was fresh. There wasn't a single dish we didn't like. But, we do recommend pre-ordering so meals don't take too long. I'd say we were a bit disappointed in the "included" breakfast. We had two options: pho ga (chicken) or fried eggs with bread. Alone, those are fine. But, there was no cold water, fruit juice or fruit, bread, rice, or even coffee and tea available. We had to ask for everything we wanted. It would have been much more comfortable if they had a coffee/tea service just available. And, I cannot imagine that some fresh fruit would have added too much to the property's expenses. The rooms were excellent. We split our group into two. Three of us stayed in a normal triple room which was large and attractive. It did have a nice A/C unit which was important. The other two stayed in a cabin. It was much smaller but had a fantastic sense of privacy and a little balcony which we used to read. The water (hot/cold) was also great. There is wifi in public areas but not in our cabin. If there were any real down sides it would have been just attention to detail and clear communication. We weren't exactly sure where to catch the speed boat or ferry from Tuan Chau/Ha Long or how much it should cost and we ended up overpaying because we were in a panicked rush due to this confusion. We also notified the staff when the water available for drinking was empty but by the morning, it still hadn't been changed out. But, while there were little irritations, the property is great and we would go back. There is a nice pool and trails up into the hills beyond the property. It would have been nice for clearer instructions as to where those trails are, how to get to the beach, etc. But, overall, Kien and the team do a nice job!

  Good stay

  We enjoyed our stay there as it was peaceful and remote. The employees were very nice.you can eat on location and have bbq.the beach is around 20 min by motorcycle.beaches had different sound systems blasting when there, and it was really overcrowded. Beach and water were really dirty sadly, I hope it will improve for next trips. The little chalets are lovely and with very good ac, and nice view. Few things were broken inside during our stay but nothing that was an issue. There was very few customers but sadly the little pool is used by locals, and as customers we did not try it, as it was crowded. So there is good and bad for the place .dont come for a beach nearby or a pool, come for the little chalet and the quiet location.
