    Hotel de garrafón, o el peor café de toda Italia

    A pesar de las enormes posibilidades del recinto, se esfuerzan en hacerte pasar una estancia dolorosa: masificación en el comedor, ruido a todas horas, desayuno de bollería industrial horroroso, el peor café de toda Italia (si quieres desayunar bien, te recomiendo la cafetería de la recepción: allí si disponen de buen café y croisants recien hechos...). Está en medio de la nada, si no dispones de un coche para poder huir, estas perdido... Es como una pesadilla, solo pensaba en que pasase el tiempo y poder irme de allí...

    No es un 4 estrellas y sumale 105 euros de taxas!. Ubicacion extraordinaria.

    Vaya por delante que el hotel está muy bien situado ( si tienes coche claro), al borde de un acantilado y las piscinas están muy bien.vistas increibles. Pero ni de casualidad las habitaciones son de 4 estrellas. 2-3 como mucho. Desayuno infumable. Personal correcto,amable.Mucha animacion, musica a todas horas.Pero si algo me dejó catatónica ,es que hay que pagar 105 de taxas por siete noches, de las cuales 21 euros es por utilizar las piscinas del hotel.obligatorio.Primera vez en mi vida que veo algo similar...

    The Italian Butlins

    We have recently returned from 10 days in Sicily based at the CDS Hotels in Terrasini on a fully inclusive basis. The resort is advertised on Loveholidays web-site as 4 star, we would say it was more in line as a 2 star, rather like an Italian Butlins with 98% of italians occupancy. The holiday was over priced. The Italians were not really aware of social distancing and it certainly was not apparent in the dining room although face masks were worn whilst queuing for food if you can call it queuing they just barged in at the food station. Food quality was not up to Italian standards and hot food was generally cold. At the bars around the resort you were served drinks in tiny plastic cups which basically one swallow and the liquid was gone. The Room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom had signs of mildew in the shower and and there was a faint smell of sewage. The weather was good and swimming in the sea which made up for the holiday. We arranged our own Taxi's (Airport Taxi company) rather than the Hotel recommended Taxi's as they charged per passenger making trips 39% more expensive.

    Positives and Negatives

    I booked a 4 night stay for the ball and chain and I. First things first, I'm a taxi driver from Blackpool, so I'm not a stuck up snob. I have however travelled most of the western world, Europe etc - so I know what to look for. We arrived at the airport, security ran well. We escaped as soon as possible for a cigarette, needs must. We were hit with an instant smell of garlic, which I thought was cliche. The taxi rank was right outside the door however BE CAREFUL, theres a few wide boys. We got charged 50 for an equivalent of £18-26 journey at home. I believe theres a taxi desk within the airport which does set rates of 39 but my advice would be to book transfers with your package. The hotel was nice when we arrived, but you get a gist of how big it is just driving onsite from the main road. When you're sitting there thinking, this is a big complex, double it. Its massive. The reception is large and theres a bar there, a lot if screaming kids but bearable after a few jars. We paid extra for a 'sea view' however theyve all got sea views - some better than others however. Luckily, the extra also meant we were in victory building, just next to the main building so we struck lucky with a hot spot. The room was decorated to a good standard, bathroom bearable and with a bidet, always handy after a few if shes hogging the bog. Bed was comfy, but the double was 2 singles pushed together, again, suited me since I'm 6"3 and like my space. Fridge, safe all the rest of it, flat screen TV but no English channels, not even bbc news. Managed to get CNN which was interesting to listen to their 'fake news'. We came 3rd week in sept, season had ended by 2 weeks, so there was only 2 of the 3 pools open, 2 if they 4 resteraunts and 3 of their 6 bars. Taking the rough with the smooth we didnt mind, since what we lost in facilities being open, we gained in quietness since the hotel wasnt even half full. In season it could be carnage as I bet it sleeps over a thousand heads. The food was good, but the service is like feeding time at the zoo, fighting russians and Italians for the bacon in the morning being the worst. More upsetting was the amount of food wasted, especially when you fancied abit of it and they run out. Location with regards to other places isnt great, its deffinatley designed for you to stay on campus for the duration of your stay, there are no local town, bars or shops - certainly not in walking distance. Hotel does have concierge service eith shuttles to Terrasini (nearest town), beach and Palmero (nearest city) but we found these quite expensive. The excursions even more so with a boat trip wanting 97 per head. Beer is Peroni (winner), wine is nice and surprisingly the spirits are also drinkable, it does seem to change from bar to bar with what they have though, even though they're all on the sane site. Warning, not as english speaking as I would like to think, I normally frequent spain and was expecting something similar but I was surprised both in good and bad ways. In conclusion, it's alright, big site, lot of walking and nothing local. Even though it's all inclusive you will need a few quid aswell. Very picturesque and beautiful scenery. P.S, I never really go off star rating but for this being 4star rated, I'd say it's an average 4star compared to a very good 3star. Salute

    Sicily 2020

    After staying 1 week in Città Del Mare I must conclude that Sicily is an amazing place. The staff was very kind (disregarding the lack of English), and the hotel looks very good! We liked the tobogan (slides) a lot, and Charlie (the bartender there) did an amazing job! The only reason I dont rank our stay 5 stars, is because the food was not very good. Especially for Italian standards. We do look forward to coming here again!
