  Disappointing

  The single and double rooms are located in renovated buildings at the side of the Chateau. They are very clean and modern and so to us are not in keeping with the experience of staying in a Chateau. There is ample parking and there is a swimming pool with plenty of loungers. The annoying part of all this is we booked a room with breakfast and an evening meal in February 2019 for a Monday evening on 17 June 2019 We received an email on 15 June 2019 too late to cancel, that the restaurant were not be open on for an evening meal on Monday 17 June., but said that reception would advise where we could eat locally. Reception did give us location of two restaurants locally, but forget to tell us that they would be closed on Monday as well. We returned to the hotel at 8.30pm to find that the reception was closed. We were left with no choice but to drive to Macon to find a restaurant.. When we asked reception at check out if the restaurant was always closed on Mondays we were told that it was but not during July and August. Why could they have had the decency to have told us when we booked in February 2019 that the restaurant was closed. The breakfast was waiter service with a typical poor continental serving. Overall a bad experience in an inefficient overpriced hotel.

  Great stay

  We booked the castle as an extra night on our way back home. The location is perfect, just 10 minutes from the peage. It's an ancient chateau, the construction of the castle goes back to the end of the 16th century. The new owners have renovated the castle with great attention to the past. We only had the option to choose the apartment suite, and that was amazing! A large living room with separate kitchen, a spacious bedroom with a good bed and a nice rain shower. Even though there was no air conditioning, and it was above 30 degrees outside, the temperature in the room was perfect for sleeping. At the end of the afternoon, we sat outside at the bar and enjoyed beautiful wines and peace. Luckily we had booked the restaurant in advance so that we could enjoy a delicious dinner in the garden. The restaurant offers two menus, and we have supplemented that with cheese, there was a wide assortment with great local cheeses. A typical French breakfast is served in the morning: fresh orange juice, croissant, and some yogurt. A perfect place to spend the night. Also nice for families with children because they can play in the entire garden. Staff is friendly.

  Despite the beautiful location this hotel is absolutely not worth the cost due to the poor guest service

  We went for a 1 night stop in this hotel that seemed idyllic. Unfortunately the lack of staff resulted in a very bad experience for us. Our children ( from 7 to 15 yrs old) had to wait for 2 hours to get chicken with french fries. ( 7.30 at the ta le and dinner served at 9.30pm) We had to ask and wait several times ( more than 20 min) for water and 30 min for our bottle of wine to be served. In the morning for breakfast same issue: no napkins, no more milk, no cups- I had to ask every time. For a hotel in this price range you should expect more pro-activity and better guest service.

  Best desert ever!

  We just had dinner here (they dont allow pets in the hotel) - but it was a fabulous night! Sitting in the inner walls of the chateau on the terrace, you already feel elevated... the place is fitted out modern - maybe a tad too modern... but the food was amazing. Everything was fresh, tasty and well combined flavor-wise, with always a surprise somewhere. The dessert was with a combination of passion fruit, cocos, cream and something chocolate in the bottom an absolute showstopper! Wow! Very welcoming and professional staff! Spoil yourself!

  Bed and food not good

  Room too small, courtesy coffee bar underequipped, emergency exit sign in front of the door defect, flashing all the time into our room. Bed not horizontal - a visit not to be repeated. Restaurant: modern, no atmosphere. Food: "filet de boeuf" with "pommes dauphines" uninspired, overcooked dish, optically not inviting: browned ingredients on a brown plate. Overall money and time wasted.
