  Hotel típico inglés, muy interesante

  Hemos estado dos días de viaje de negocios y me ha parecido un hotel muy acogedor, muy típico inglés,muy interesante, bien ambientado, con habitaciones muy grandes. El personal muy correcto y amable. Sin duda volvería a repetir

  Frozen Afternoon Tea

  Attended frozen afternoon tea this weekend! How fabulous; even though its a difficult time for us all, there was social distancing, lovely service, friendly staff! Well done all. My niece loved it. Just what we needed right before Christmas!

  Its the most wonderful time of the year

  This is a very special place. Both the building and the staff are wonderful. The building is there to be discovered. Walk the building with the hotel written guide . The staff made this a very personal experience. From Craig at check in with a great knowledge of the hotel and rooms to Julia who is tireless in organising all your catering needs. Throughout our stay Michael and Marina were extremely attentive and efficient. Thank you Q hotels for another great stay

  xmas dinner

  Excellent Christmas dinner today for our family and mum in these strange times. Set in the stunning 400 year old hall. The service was brilliant as was the food. Would definitely recommend. A Christmas day to remember.

  Newer rooms are not modern

  I stayed for 2 nights for a business meeting. I checked in at 11pm and was told I was staying in the 'modern' part of the hotel i.e. not the hall itself. There was nothing modern about the room! It looked like something from the 80s. The TV remote wouldn't work and there was a loud buz from the fridge. But it was late at night and a far walk from reception so I decided to wait until the next day to ask to change rooms. Breakfast was abysmal. There was a decent menu but when I asked for a toastie they said they were out of stock and would be removed from the menu. They brought scrambled egg on toast to me in less than 30 seconds so it was clearly pre prepared not fresh. We had a meeting in the main hall. The meeting room itself was nice but despite arranging break times with the member of staff, we struggled to get the coffee and tea replenished without having to go and find someone to ask. I asked the receptionist if I could move rooms and without question she found me a new room, this time in the main hall which was lovely. The evening meal was spot on, the majority had either beef or turkey dinner and it was faultless. Based on breakfast and lunch we weren't expecting the meal to be great so it was a pleasant surprise.
