    Matt was great!

We had a great stay. We got in super late but Matt on the night shift was so accommodating. Gave us a little later check in which was helpful. He was awesome and definitely made our stay better :) all around everyone we came in contact with was so kind and took pride in their job. Can't say enough great things.

    Nice Property but Some Issues

First of all, the staff were extremely accommodating - from the front desk to housekeeping. A huge shout out for them. I like quite a bit of sugar in my coffee - as well as at least two to three cups a day - and I always got extra coffee and sugar with no problem. Second, this is NOT a pet friendly hotel - which I am ecstatic about! I'm super allergic to fuzzy friends, so not sneezing all the time is a big plus. Third, the room was quite clean. It also had a working fridge, which was a plus. [Not okay, though, was there is no microwave, so unless you're eating salads or something, you can keep things cold, but not heat any leftovers that need warmed up.] The king bed I had was comfy and had sufficient pillows. The desk and seating areas were nice, too - and I could sit either place to work on my computer. Internet worked fine. It was free - and since I was working remotely, it was really important that I could It was graduation, and there were a lot of older teens who were simply running amoc - and without masks. They were quite noisy, even during weeknights with nary a parent or guardian to be seen. On my floor and sometimes the elevator, the odeur of weed, its skunky smell stinking up the environs, was very present. Dudes - no smoking means NO SMOKING! Weed and, if applicable, crack should not be smoked on the premises! (And it goes without saying cigarettes are also a no no.) I cannot comment on the breakfast as it was not being served due to COVID-19 restrictions. The prices, therefore, were rock bottom - and so what would normally be charged for about 3 days was charged for a whole week. Someone had broken a lightshade in the ice room. I had to notify the front desk about it. Twice I think. The pool was open. However, it's so small that if a group of people come down to swim, there really isn't a good way to social distance. And, of course, one can't wear one's mask in the pool. Still, for all my whining and complaining, the stay was a pretty good one, and I was treated well by the staff.

This is NOT your father's Crowne Plaza!

My daughter moved to Columbus to further her professional training at a well-known hospital in Columbus. We stayed her as a family after driving in to help her settle. This hotel was astoundingly unlike any Crowne Plaza that I've ever stayed in. First there are young people hanging around the entry laying on car hoods blasting music, smoking, etc. Just an extremely distasteful scene for the entrance to an upscale hotel. NO STAFF anywhere to be seen to protect the image and brand....just people hanging out like it's a downtown street corner. That was enough to almost have us turn around, but we checked-in and headed to our room. The hall to the elevators was disgusting. Food residue on the sticky floor. We take the elevator to our floor and the door opens and we're blasted in the face with the stench of pot!! Not only are people smoking in the non-smoking hotel, but they're smoking weed! Unbelievable! Is this a reality TV show?! So we put our bags in the room and head out to get a bite to eat and, frankly just to get out of the place. When we're heading out, I couldn't resist asking the front desk staff about it. "Is smoking allowed in this hotel?", "No", she replies. I relay our experience with smelling smoke. "...and you have to know that it's pot.". She looks at me, nods in the affirmative and basically just shrugs her shoulders! Well, at that point, we knew what we were in for. We almost used the whole experience as a family inside joke. See how many disturbing things you could find! Dirty diapers tossed in the parking lot, check. Piles of garbage tossed in the hall along with a bloody towel, check. A bellman's cart left in the furthest recesses of the parking lot, check. You couldn't make some of it up! Then, while we had no intention of using the pool, we see that it's being drained. Why? The passive aggressive sign on the first floor revealed why. One of the upscale guests completely ignored the 'no glass' rule and broke a bottle in or around the pool. So the entire pool gets closed and fully drained! I've probably forgotten some of it at this point (we stayed in July '20) as you just try to block it all out! If you've read this far, I'm sure that you can infer that I can't recommend that ANYONE stay here! This place should be evaluated by headquarters with an eye toward shuttering it. Avoid at all costs. P.S. I tried to upload photos, but this website claims it's uploading and does nothing! Maybe my next review will be of the TripAdvisor website!

The best hotel , hands down!!

I absolutly love staying there. The staff , especially the manager Gave went out of his way to make sure my stay was pleasurable and made me feel like I was welcome. The men that work behind the desk are just the best I've ever encountered while traveling. They literally go far and beyond your expectations and I want to thank all of them!! The hotel was clean and safe and I will definatly be back. Thank you Crowne Plaza!!!!

    Disgusting

I had to stay two nights for a work conference. The first room I checked into, had pubic hairs on the bed covers and in the bathroom. The second room had blood stains on the faucet and on the door and the walls. The blankets had holes and stains and are thin. The ceilings are crumbling and falling off. We experienced theft of our trade show booth equipment of laptops and technology equipment when the rooms were supposed to be locked up, and trucks in the parking lot were also broken into with tools stolen overnight.

Probably the worst hotel i have ever stayed at

i have travel around the world and stayed in numerous hotels, this was by far the worst. I do not know where to start from; the house keeping was poor, every two days, the bathroom sealing was chipping off and falling on me while i was taking a bath, the front office personnel were rood and in some cases i would say hostile: my was done through a travel agency, so i needed an invoice under the name of the agency, they issued the invoice under my name with a USA address, i was trying to explain the situation and requested several times to correct the address. They kept refusing so i told them that my organization's (which by the way is an international company) legal department would follow up; they started yelling and saying that i was threatening them. finally a manager came and made some changes but still did not solve the problem. During my 15 days stay the breakfast and the dinner were not served every day; again when i was trying to find out if the next day the restaurant would be open the front office personnel, rudely replied that they did not know when the restaurant would be open again. Overall it was a very bad experience, i was in Columbus for business and i would definitely would not recommend this hotel to anybody, it is a shame that this hotel is a Crowne Plaza hotel.

    Poor Service Recovery Practices

Harrison Noid Hospitality Evaluation Property Name: Crown Plaza Columbus North-Worthington Check-in/out Dates: 6/23 - 6/24 Was this your first visit?: Yes What influenced your decision to stay at our hotel? Upon my arrival in Columbus, OH, I needed a place to sleep. 1. How would you rate the overall experience during your stay at our hotel/resort/property?: - Excellent - Good - Average - - Poor 2. Were you satisfied with the cleanliness and tidiness of your room/facilities? - Very satisfied - - Satisfied - Neutral - Unsatisfied - Very Unsatisfied 3. How would you rate the quality of service provided by our staff during your stay? - Excellent - Good - Average - - Poor 4. What was the highlight of your stay with us?: Before my arrival, I had been driving nonstop from Dallas. The bed was so comfortable! 5. Were there any areas where we could improve our services?: Yes, the Hospitality spirit is lost here, and the staff offered Jaded, subpar service. 6. Did you find our facilities and amenities satisfactory? While I only checked into the hotel for a few hours, the Pool and fitness gym seemed reasonable for accommodating guests needs. Because this hotel mainly caters to Executive Meetings (Small Groups) and Family Leisure, so adding more fitness center equipment might be considered. 7. Would you recommend our hotel/resort/property to others?: - No - Due to the service interactions I experienced during my short visit, as described below, I would not suggest this property for those seeking an experience more than getting reasonable sleep. 8. How likely are you to revisit us in the future?: - Very likely - Likely - Neutral - Unlikely - - Very unlikely Overall Visit Observations/Comments: Before my visit, I was at Military Annual training for two weeks from 6/8-6/22 and was on vacation from my Corporate Civilian Job from 6/24-6/28. I packed my bags to hang out with my best friend, who's been going through a lot lately. I booked an Airbnb for the week but needed a hotel to rest at before my 5 PM Airbnb reservation on 6/24. I chose the Crown Plaza Columbus North-Worthington. They offered a reasonable rate through a third-party Booking Company. Check-in: My reservation was for 6/23, but due to driving 18 hours from Dallas, I didnt arrive at the hotel until around 5:30 AM. This meant I had until 11 AM to get some sleep and check out. The front desk agent who checked me in was kind, mannerable, and apologetic. He mentioned that he had recently started his new job and was still getting used to the Property Management System (PMS). My check-in had challenges, but the agent managed to resolve them. The breakfast times provided at check-in were incorrect, and I missed out on breakfast due to the misinformation. Breakfast situation: Despite the quoted breakfast hours, I missed out on breakfast due to misinformation provided by the hotel staff, and when I raised the issue, the front desk manager, Dara, was unhelpful and seemed dismissive. I encountered an individual walking from the front desk who happened to be heading to the same floor where my room was located. I approached him and asked if he was a manager. He confirmed that he was. I assumed he was the GM, and I think he mentioned his name was Adam or Steve. I brought up the issue of Dara's poor service, and he explained that she had worked a very long and busy weekend. While I understand the challenges of a busy weekend, I felt it was not an acceptable reason for the subpar service. The manager apologized and mentioned that he would speak to one of the chefs to prepare something for me, or if not, he would explore other options with the front desk staff to make things right. He also asked for my room number. I thanked the manager and returned to my room. Unfortunately, I never received any follow-up, and I left with a disappointing experience, deciding to only stay at my preferred Hilton or Marriott hotels in the future. Please focus on improving guest recovery methods to ensure that guests leave feeling better than when they arrived. We also need to give our facilities and amenities a facelift. Additionally, provide better initial training to our staff so they are well-versed in property outlet information and understand how to effectively use guest service management systems. How likely is it that you will recommend us to others?: Very Un-likely

    Terrible experience

Stay away from this hotel. Insects in the room, windows with broken glass, dirt and dusts, personnel was uninterested to any complain and listless. After the first night, we checked out and cancelled our stay.

    Great con, bad hotel

AnthrOhio 2023 was a great convention. I wish I could say the same for its host hotel. Between 4 of us we went through 56 room cards! Not because we were losing them, but because they stopped unlocking our door. Like wtf man. The pool was dirty and the air in the pool room was 100 degrees, thats not an exaggeration, thats what the thermometer on the wall said. Anyways, thanks to AnthrOhio for a great con, but please find a new venue.

    Still Reliably Good

This is my fifth or sixth time staying here. I was once again impressed by how quiet it was (given how rowdy the event I go there for usually gets), and how good they treated me in terms of room location. Everything about the room was excellent, as were the hotel facilities, though we certainly put a strain on their air conditioning! The courtyard seemed a bit bare this year; I assume they're remodeling. Hotel restaurant was very good as usual. If you dislike traffic noise, however, you should get a room in the higher area rather than the space near the meeting rooms.
