A lucky find! The Daniel hotel is absolutely lovely. We just got back from a weeks stay, and my only regret is that we did not stay for longer. Firstly, things you may want to know. The room (3) had a kettle and a fridge, a kettle and a hair dryer. Aircon and security box were chargables extras, (50 euro for both for the week). There was no TV, there was a small balcony with a table and a couple of chairs. I had read reviews complaining of the small showers, but ours was more like the toilet had been converted to a wet room and was large and as hot as you like. The beds were on the hard side, but clean and comfortable. We felt very safe. The hotel, and pool, were kept spotlessly clean, the poolside snack bar was good value and had a lovely range of fresh food and drinks. Plenty of free on site parking if you plan to rent a car. The owners were lovely, Vicky, Gus and Carlos did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. It feels lke quite a rural localion despite being a short walk to the strip or a bit further to the the beach. I would definately recommend it and if I go back to Zante I will stay here again. We had a couple of lovely meals at Michaelo's, and some good nights at Antonis cocktail bar, both quite close by. Superb.

the jewel in the crown!!7th time on the Island but 1st time at this hotel and what a find!! if you are checking these reviews for somewhere to stay then seriously look no further!! Other reviews state it is a bit out of the way but we really didn't find it a problem, turn right as you come out of the hotel, then right at Michaelos after that ten minute walk brings you to the top of the strip by the Cave bar and roundabout or turn left and follow the road down to the church, keep left and take a sneaky short cut through Vanessa's pool bar and you are on the middle of the strip (that way takes about ten minutes too). The Hotel itself is faultless! Rooms have a fridge, kettle and hairdryer. Security safe and aircon available at an extra charge. Beds are comfy and there is plenty of wardrobe space and LOTS of hangers!! nice balcony with table and 2 chairs and plenty of space in the room to move around and it is spotlessly clean. Best part of it was though was that despite being on the ground floor we felt totally safe. the sliding glass doors also have sliding shutters so you can just lock the shutter doors and still get some fresh air. Lovely breakfast of yogurt, eggs, bread, croissant and cakes served outside in the courtyard area, the pool and the area surrounding it are lovely and again spotlessly clean!1 Plenty of snacks and food freshly made and reasonably priced available all day and huge portions! The thing that makes this hotel truly special has to be the way you are made to feel so welcome by Vicky and Gus, such amazingly friendly people and of course not forgetting Costas and Altin who tended to our every need and made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble they were all fantastic and get 10 stars from us! Yes, the setting is quite rural and the cockerel starts quite early! but in my opinion that just adds to its appeal, honestly stay here and you wont regret it! plenty of amazing restaurants within walking distance and if you don't fancy the 25 minute walk to the beach then jump in a cab (thinks its about 6 or 7 euros) Kalamaki is a very special place for us and really does have a place in our heart and without a doubt we will be returning again to Hotel Daniel.

SIMPLY PERFECT!Well it's our last night at this delightful hotel and we have had the best holiday thank you to Vicky, Gus, Costas and Altin. I think everyone who is currently here are return visitors (our 2nd time also) The rooms, pool area and bar are all spotlessly clean. The sunbeds have been socially distanced and are sprayed and cleaned when you remove your towels at the end of the day. It is set in a lovely location, overlooking the fields and easily accessible for the many bars and restaurants of Kalamaki. The bar serves lovely meals and at a very reasonable price too! We would definitely recommend this beautiful gem of a hotel! Thank you everyone and we hope to see you all again next year!

Nice hotelWe returned from 14 nights at the Daniel hotel last week. The hotel is very clean and the staff were lovely, especially Gus! Such a cheery and good natured man! We ate at the bar a couple of times and the food was really good. Freshly made and, in agreement with everyone who commented on the chips, they were fabulous! Obviously hand cut and not frozen! The rooms are basic but have everything you need and are cleaned regularly with clean sheets and towels provided every two or three days. The hotel itself is in very quiet and in a lovely rural setting. The grounds are well kept and beautiful. We saw a lot of geckos around! It was a bit of a walk to get to the main part of the resort but you get used to it very quickly! Look out for Missy, the hotel cat! Shes very sweet! We did have a couple of minor gripes. There is definitely a sunbed war! We saw people reserving beds the night before and very early in the morning then not occupying them until later in the day. We only managed to get beds once. This is something management need to regulate. I have to say that there seemed to be a bit of favouritism in this area towards people who were regular visitors! Also we felt breakfast was very basic. Some cold meat and fresh fruit and salad would have enhanced it immensely. We have noted that the price for breakfast next year has jumped considerably so this might mean that they intend to improve it. I certainly hope so! Having said these things, I think we would consider going to this hotel again as its plus points far outweighed the negatives.

Faulty Towers Zante StyleWe did not enjoy our stay at the Daniel Hotel for the following reasons 1, it is beyond basic, our room had a kettle but no cups, A fridge which made more than enough noise to keep us awake every night and enough ants to cover large area of the floor. 2, Sunbeds are at times reserved overnight and most mornings they are taken by 7am with no one using them for most of the day. 3, When I approached the lady owner regarding this matter she performed a Greek rant reminiscent of Basil Fawlty in his heyday, she called me a liar and said I wanted to ruin her business, this was a totally hysterical overreaction and verged on threatening behaviour. 4, The local animal population although lovely to look at during the day enjoyed making themselves known throughout the night. 5, The roads to and from the resort are an absolute race track and are not very well lit which means there is an element of risk when walking at night. 6, If you are a first time visitor you seem to be treated with contempt, the hotel seems to have a members club attitude with regular visitors treated favourably (allowed to leave towels on sunbeds overnight) We have visited Kalamaki many times and we believe that this hotel is the worst we have ever visited.

Perfect peaceful getawayPerfect hotel for a quiet and restful holiday with rural views yet only 10 minutes from the main bars and restaurants. The room had everything we needed and Vicki, Gus and team could not have been any kinder or more helpful. The breakfast was more than adequate to start the day, but the pool bar food was delicious, home cooked and plenty of choice served with smiles and humour. The music which I believe is a Gus playlist was brilliant every day, a very eclectic mix across the decades. If we come back to Kalamaki we wouldnt hesitate to stay here again and would certainly recommend it for adult friends. It is a 5 minute taxi ride to the centre (bar staff always happy to call you a taxi) where you will find some fantastic bars and restaurants, we have eaten incredible Greek food all week I could hardly favour one place over another.

A Hidden GemJust got back from a week away with the wife staying at this marvellous Hotel, from start to finish this break was spot on, booked it up having read the reviews and was attracted by the very reasonable price, all I can say is this family run hotel was possibly one of the best hotels we have stayed at, don't get me wrong it isn't the Ritz but what it is, is welcoming it is clean it is comfortable the owners and the staff are great people who work very hard to run a well organised establishedment the pool is fantastic the food was great (reasonably priced) and it was nice and quiet but not far from where it's all happening, I would like to thank the owners for their hospitality, kindness and above all giving us a great week in the place we both love which is Kalamaki we will certainly be back
