  Poor hygiene, lack of staff, expensive, won't be staying again

  I was disappointed with this hotel! Cons: The room was small, the TV tiny (ca. 14 inch, so not much bigger than the light switch) and all channels were not tuned properly. No Wifi, the shared balcony had not been cleaned for ages, with cigarette ends, broken roof felting, glass and other bits lying around on the floor. At breakfast, there was one bread roll left and it took a long time to get more (a staff member went to the bakery). There was a hot plate with no food in it a space for boiled eggs but none available. None of the plates were cleared away as the only person working it seemed was the staff member at reception who also did the breakfast service. Pros: On the plus side, the location of this hotel right next to the park which is very nice. You can also easily walk down to Willingen High Street. From the outside it also looks good and I imagine it would be nice to sit outside in their cafe. The 2 staff members we did meet were very friendly but just seemed overworked. However, having paid £96 for my room, this hotel was a big disappointment! I won't be staying here again I'm afraid.

  Comfortable hotel in a quiet location

  We had a nice room with a large shared balcony. The room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom had plenty of space for toiletbags etc. The TV was small and we found it difficult to find the stations. Breakfast was very good, but the evening meals could have been better and certainly warmer. The location is ideal, very near to the centre of Willingen and situated next to a park. Dutch owners.

  nice,clean, quiet in beautiful landscape, and lively town.

  nice hotel,dutch owners, very proffesionel,clean and big rooms,some with view on surrounding mountains, Very good breakfast, ( dinner could be better bud was still good, not exellent bud good), , friendly and helpfull staff,this is a really good and nice hotel.,

  Enjoyable stay at a very reasonable price.

  The hotel is situated a little back from the main street - but still close to the restaurants and bars. My room was spacious, clean and quiet - so I slept very well. The only thing that wasn't to my full satisfaction was the mattress which for me was far to soft. On the other hand for breakfast they served a perfect soft-boiled egg which you rarely find in hotels.

  Good hotel - impressive food and wine - a surprise!

  Booked the hotel for its location - excellent and easy to find with satnav and easy free parking. Very comfortable hotel though spa not working at present due to refurbishment. Our host speaks good English and is very helpful. Other staff lovely too. First night we were the only people in the restaurant... Very surprising because the quality of the food and wine was superb! Soup, very fresh salads and trout and schnitzel main courses were top quality. The schnitzel was tender and the breadcrumbs perfectly crisp and not greasy... one the the best I have ever had! Good range of top quality and also good quality sensibly priced wines too. When I travel I usually research the food and wine beforehand... lots of Michelin stars tried all through the year. This restaurant gets no mention in the guides! Excellent normal food and wine - menu of the day (tagesmenu) especially. Congratulations Chef!
