  A different stay

  We've stayed the night in auberge 'de Barrier' in Houthalen. This large domaine is ideal for parties and diners. Top of the bill is the 1* Michelin restaurant 'Inesto'. The hotel is part of the 'different hotels' and all rooms are differently decorated. We've stayed in room nr 8. This room is one of the largest (I've seen all 9 rooms) with a view over the parking space and entrance of the building. There was a very large bed (200 * 200 cm) with 2 different pillows per person.   very good

  we stayed here with the 5-star formula: room+dinner in Innesto + breakfast. We had a very spacious room, clean and with a King size bed. Batroom is large and offers shower as well as a large bathtub. Room was well isolated, but given the fact that it's close to a busy road, light sleepers cannot sleep with open window. Staff was very friendly, but sometimes you had to look for them... probably because it was very calm. Breakfast is brought to table: eggs à la minute, bread, pastries, yoghurt, fresh fruit, dried ham, smoked salmon, paté and two kinds of cheese. Very good marmelade.

  Fantastic

  I recently visited to attend a business dinner. We had appetizers and cocktails on the patio. The grounds are beautiful and the servers were pleasant and attentive.   Superb for a weekend off

  Very nice hotel, reserved and welcoming, staff very kind, great breakfast and relaxing view on the garden. Minus: 1-No wifi working ... A pity for a four stars hotel. 2-Fare we got at booking.com was 25% higher that the fare offered directly from the hotel. Not a good deal at booking.com. We will devotedly go back for a weekend escapade.

  Romantische overnachting

  We hadden sinds september een romantische overnachting geboekt in de barrier met als surplus een gezellig diner in sterrenzaak innesto. Dit was geboekt voor aanstaande zaterdag. Vandaag werd ik opgebeld door een medewerkster van de barrier om doodleuk te melden dat onze overnachting niet door kan gaan gezien er een grote groep komt en alle kamers bezet zullen zijn. Wat een service. Hier zien ze ons nooit meer!!!
