  Great afternoon tea at Mansion House

  Great afternoon tea for my birthday at the mansion house. Chef did me my own plate of gluten free food, all lovely. Very accommodating and knowledgeable staff. Great surroundings and beautiful grounds.

  Fantastic afternoon tea was one of the best Ive had in a long time, the service was superb and what lovely people you working there they were professional, friendly and all done socially distanced. We will be back again.

  Shame the Mansion wasn't open but still a pleasant stay

  We have stayed at this hotel before. Surrounded by nice grounds (Mostly golf course) the main Mansion part of the hotel is fantastic, its grand and classic but with recently upgraded rooms. Unfortunately for us the mansion building was closed due to the pandemic I believe (I was not aware of this at booking) still we did have a nice 2 days in the more corporate (golf) side of the hotel which is a short walk from the mansion. This is where the swimming pool, gym etc are so it worked out ok. The Pandemic did make for an interesting stay, with a limited room service menu, breakfast being served in a paper bag outside your hotel room door, masks everywhere and having to book pool slots in advance (Which is a good thing). The hotel seems to be handling the Covid-19 situation well and it felt very safe with sanitiser everywhere and cleaned and sealed rooms. I probably wouldn't book a stay here again if I couldn't upgrade to the Mansion as that is what made our first visit so special. Without the Mansion it is still a pretty decent standard hotel. When the mansion is back open, I thoroughly recommend this hotel for a country stay.

  Lovely stay

  A lovely hotel just outside Reading, set in 250 acres of ground and offering a whole host of facilities such as swimming pool, gym and golf course. I'm not much of a golfer but I treated myself to a gym and pool session and also loved the big open communal areas that the hotel offered. Perfect for a working from home space!

  Well looked after!

  Me and my family stayed at the De Vere Wokefield Estate for two nights whilst visiting friends. This was our first stay in a hotel since coming out of lockdown one. We were given the most loveliest of welcomes by Aaron and Helena at the main reception desk. Full of cheer and warmth towards us which made us feel very welcome. We asked prior to arriving if we could have a travel cot for our youngest son which got mistaken by one of the staff for another single bed.Helena arrange for this to be swapped and it was done immediately. They even let our two boys have little hotel Fox toys. They were just so lovely. We also felt very safe in the hotel and was very happy with the amount of effort being put into keeping everyone safe. We have already got plans to return.
