  Double Dip

  Business was one of few to be open for a business trip. Some efforts made for COVID but the elevator had the same marks on the floor all week. The low score was due to the air conditioning not working, the on site restaurant was listed as open and wasnt and the daily parking. The parking is $28 per day. Yet if you pay at the machine it is $8 overnight! I felt this was a gouge! I am a big Hilton fan but wont go back to this one.

  Gorgeous architecture and decor, clean hotel, friendly staff, sadly in a dodgy neighbourhood

  We like Doubletree Hotels, and this one is well worth experiencing due the beautiful architecture and decor. Although this hotel is just a couple of blocks from the convention centre and the rest of downtown, it is in an up-and-coming area, but sadly still dodgy neighbourhood. Plus, there is currently much construction related to their commuter rail system a block away. Also, the Salvation Army is across the street and several of its clients were hanging around the outside of the hotel. This did not stop us from venturing outside on foot however, and we were NOT approached by the street people - but neither did we feel truly comfortable. The hotel does keep the front door locked 24 hours a day, and desk staff will let you in if you are a guest. Also, the elevator is key-accessed only, but unfortunately the digital key (which is generally such a great idea) does not currently work for the elevator. We loved the size, quality and amenities of the beautifully appointed room. One item to note: if you are arriving by car, the underground parking entry / exits are extremely narrow. We drive a smaller car, and cannot imagine anything larger fitting through easily.

  Horrible location

  Beautiful hotel , horrible location ... the amount of homeless people outside hanging around are crazy (they do approach you ) The front door is locked so you do not feel safe here Our room was suppose to be cleaned but my dog managed to find a water bottle cover and wrapper Would not stay here again

  Excellent Stay Despite the Snow

  I recently returned from a trip to Edmonton and chose this hotel because of proximity to family. It is a beautiful, safe hotel. Well appointed and very comfortable rooms. Staff were top-notch, very friendly and helpful. Because of covid, the fitness room was closed but they let me borrow some weights so I could do a workout in my room. Convenient underground parking for $28/day which was very handy because of nearby LRT construction. Once that is done, the hotel will have great access to the rest of the city. Will definitely return!

  Meh....

  We had to go up to Edmonton, so we were curious about this new Hilton, and booked a stay. Disappointing is an understatement. The hotel is roughly 11 stories on the river bank of the North Saskatchewan River and the management decided to close down the top floors of the building that would have been the best view! We were on the 5th floor, a bit of a view but largely a church was in the middle of our view. The hotel had zero amenities (even though the health restrictions allow for restaurants to be open). We didnt receive the signature double tree cookies on check in. No bottles of water (we have Hilton Gold status). The hotel room is a very bizarre layout, so much wasted space. Same with the bathroom, no bathtub and a lot of wasted space. For a newer hotel the shower head wasnt any better than a Motel 6. And for the amount of people that appeared to be there, very little water pressure. The base of the shower could be cleaner, and they could look at making sure there arent any cracks in the grout. The front desk staff were friendly enough. It was a little odd to see the security guard mopping the floor in the front lobby... not super classy for the decor they were going for. Parking, well If youve got anything bigger than a mid sized SUV, dont, just dont. Underground parking was $10 a night more than the surface lot (ok fine, its downtown and security), but the entrance and exit are tight, and awkward, very poor architectural design. Simply a meh stay.
