Perfect getaway! We stayed 4 nights on KI and this was just the most perfect location and most beautiful cottage! As described in other reviews, the homestead is located in the centre of the island with only lots of bushland and kangaroos around. Perfect to relax but also perfect to explore the island. The cottage has everything you need. Although the weather was cold and wet, we enjoyed the cosy fire and felt perfectly comfortable. It is a very well-design eco blockhouse, which keeps you warm in winter and I would expect to be comfortably cool in summer with the wide overhangs. The hosts are also so welcoming and even let us stay an extra night for free when our return ferry was cancelled! Can't get much better than that! Will definitely come here again!

LOVED THIS PLACE!We were so pleased with this beautiful peaceful location. A lovely cabin, cosy combustion fireplace for the colder nights, gorgeous views and abundance of wildlife. Our boys fed carrots to the friendly kangaroos at the doorstep and saw their first echidna in the wild. Having no mains water and being off the grid with a back up generator only added to the rural charm. The marron experience was exceptional. Such great fun for the boys to catch the marron and a well worth it platter at the end. The perfect central location to do all your sightseeing on kangaroo island. Would definately stay here again.

Stunning accommodation!Absolutely loved this place, I cannot really fault it. It's lovely and quiet, which my wife and I love. The scenery is magnificent, and the wildlife spectacular. Friendly, almost tame Kangaroos every evening, and sometimes morning will happily graze close by. We also saw many blue wrens which seem to live around the garden near the cottage. Even though it was summer, and quite hot ( we had a couple of days in the 30s ), the house was fairly cool, and opening the doors and windows in the evening cooled the place down fairly quick, and there are also ceiling fans. I loved that they were energy conscious, using solar panels. Telstra mobile was also not a problem. Everything was provided, except beach towels, which the caretaker provided immediately ( on Christmas day I might add, as we caught them going out ) The only very minor thing would be was the main bed was a little small. We are used to a King sized bed, and I think this was only a double bed. At least a queen sized bed I think would be the icing on the cake! All in all it was a great 4 night stay. As for the location. It is fairly remote, and quite a drive from Kingscote. So being Christmas, we did have to stock up before our stay. Parndana itself doesn't have many attractions. We didn't go to the wildlife park, as we had so much other stuff planned, but that is very close. The little town does have a small ( albeit expensive ) IGA, which stocks the basics if you forget something. It does boast a great pub, which we had a nice meal and a cold beer one night. However, as our first 4 nights on the Island ( of an 8 night stay ) were to be exploring the western part of the Island, it was perfect to drive up to Stokes Bay, or to go to Vivonne Bay, or the Flinders Chase National Park. If you plan on seeing the Eastern Part, just note it is a good hour or more drive from this location This was truly a lovely place to stay. I have no hesitation recommending this place to stay. Would love to come again if we ever return. Thank you

Family timeWe took two children with us to see the great Kangaroo Island and search the web and found this cute little house . In the middle of the island. Was about an hour from getting of the boat and about 5 Im on dirt. Road wasnt to bad. The house is awesome . Small kangaroos came up at night and in morning. But must be quiet not to scare away.. there is a BBQ to use and the place has all you need. Must bring own food and no laundry. But who cares. Power is from solar and battery back up so remember turn of all things not using.. very peaceful and beautiful. Where it is everything is not to far away Max 1 hour Will stay again. We meet the owners very happy and friendly Thank you
