Nice hotell with that personal touch and good parking for bigger vehicles

A lovely place to stay. In an old factory they have made it very personal. Clean, nice room with wonderful beds and sheets! Fantastic breakfast! There is no staff during night time, but there was no problems arriving late. The key in the keybox as agreed. We will absolutly come back!

Middle of nowhere, perfectly restaured and nice hotel. No personel around, at least not by arriving and fregirator full of snacks for free, you still need to pay for beer though))) Very positive experience alltogether and nice sleep. Highly recommendable

    Good concept, quiet, clean, special

No reception, instead you get an email with the code for a key safe at the entrance. Check in can not be more effective. There is a lounge with a refrigerator that holds cold drinks and a selection of food. It also has hot drinks. Rooms are modern, spacey and clean. The location is beautiful. If you are are open to something different from main stream hotels this is a beginning.

    Interesting hotel

Based in part of an old factory building (hence the name) the first thing you notice is that there's no reception area and no one to meet you on arrival. Instead you're faced with a locked door and something that looks like a number of security boxes set into the wall. The explanation printed above the boxes explains (in English only) that you need to enter a code sent to you on booking. When you do this one of the security boxes springs open and there's a set of keys inside that gets you inside and opens your room door. Access to the rooms involves climbing two flights of stairs, something two elderly members of our party found difficult to do with heavy luggage. There's no lift, nor, when we arrived, anyone else at all in the building. The dining and (connected) lounge areas had fridges full of drinks, snacks etc with explanations of what was free and what would be charged. We arrived late afternoon and saw nobody else in or around the building until some other guests arrived about four hours later. The experience of having the whole hotel to ourselves during that time was slightly unsettling. The front of the building and the whole of the hotel area is finished to a high standard and other than the aforementioned lack of lift access and lack of air conditioning in either of our two rooms (we were there in one of the hottest parts of July 2018) I couldn't fault it. The back of the building - visible from corridor windows or via a short walk, still looks like a 'work in progress'. Or, if you prefer, a building site - although in similar vein to the hotel there were no builders. It all felt a little like some kind of apocalypse movie where you wake up to find everyone else has disappeared. In this case though we woke up to find one person in charge of breakfast and you sort out all payment issues with her. I'm still not sure whether the Factory Lodge setup is ahead of the game by taking logical advantage of modern communications or whether they're penny-pinching as far as humanly possible by getting rid of (costly) staff. If it's the latter their prices don't reflect any savings they've made but either way we enjoyed our stay. Whether the novelty of a hotel with no staff would quickly wear off if it was more widespread is hard to say but for the moment the Factory Lodge is one of the more unusual hotels we've stayed in recently. One star off for stairs and (no) air con but other than that pretty good.

    Unique Accomodations: We Loved it!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and were very impressed and pleased. First, it is not your typical B&B (or hotel). When you arrive, you retrieve the key (opens the front door and the door to your room) via a lock box outside. You are provided clear instructions on how to do this before your arrival and there is a telephone number to call if you have any issues (we had none; it worked fine). Inside you find a very modern and well maintained facility. There is an open area for relaxing and tables and chairs for business discussions (it is geared toward business people on travel but it serves regular travelers just as well). Our room was on the top floor (Room 12) and it had everything that we needed. There was a comfortable large bed, a very nicely set up bathroom, a desk for writing (or computer use), and windows that opened and views to the surrounding countryside. Morning breakfasts were filling and there was complimentary coffee and cappuccino available at all hours. There was also an honor system refrigerator where you could help yourself to various drinks. We found the Lodge to be just what we needed for a two night stay as we transited from Norway to Germany (the ferry was close by so our departure was efficient and easy). In addition, there was no lack of personal contact with Mette (the on site manager). She or her assistant (also named Mette) were able to provide recommendations on things to do and restaurants to consider. We were well taken care of! We would go back in a heartbeat if our future travels include this area of Denmark.
