  A family weekend

  First thing to mention is that this is not a hotel to stay at if your intending to tour the sites of Taichung, it's quite a drive from downtown, however, with Mala Bay water park and the Lihpao Land theme park right outside the back door it's fantastic for the children. The hotel itself has a lot going for it, the rooms are beautifully designed and well thought out, all the essentials. Amazingly good staff that are truly guest oriented. Great care has been taken to ensure that the hotel is children friendly, there are hotel run DIY activities throughout the day (during peak season), a large playroom and in the evening while mum and dad are having a drink in the Star lounge, the children can play in the Xbox and Wii gaming area. One thing you'll notice when you visit is the vast collection of Lego models on display everywhere you go, upon enquiringly we were informed that the hotel manager has a passion for Lego and has used his hobby to decorate the hotel in a manner that both adults and children can enjoy... Some of the models on display are astounding. All good so far, but here are the downsides, food in the buffet restaurant at breakfast and in the evening is pretty awful, if you stay more than one night you'll see the exact same thing on the menu every day. At the Star lounge, which has VERY limited opening hours you will find useful restricted to choosing only what is on their drinks menu, so if your not a fan of Taiwan beer (hugely overpriced), 'Long Island Ice Tea' or Gin and Tonic (there was one other but I don't remember what it was) then bring your own or go without, unless of course your willing to pay for a whole bottle of whiskey or brandy!!! One small advisory, when you check-in be sure to get more than one room key card, access to bedroom floors requires swiping the card in the elevator, good for security, not so good if mum has already gone up to the room and you suddenly find yourself stuck in the lobby...

  Fullon Hotel Lihpao

  We have been to this hotel so many times, I can't remember how many. The rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel staff are very courteous. There is a water park (Malabay) and an amusement park (Discovery). The latest addition is an Outlet called the Grand Mall. It has all the brand's for clothing and footwear, among others. No high end stuff yet. This is a huge mall. The food court on the top floor has many choices. In fact, we are here right now and we will be trying one of the restaurants at the food court.

  Great place to be!

  Really nice staff, clean rooms, and public areas; great restaurants and breakfast are just amazing. I stay in this hotel for 4 weeks and I could see that cleanness was the serious point for the staff. Housekeeping was just incredible, day in and day out my room was always really clean!

  A family weekend

  This hotel is your best choice if you're intended to play in Lihpao land (including Mala Bay) and/or the Lihpao International Race Track nearby. My family (4 people) spent one night in this hotel. Our room had one queen-size bed and a Japanese style room where two people can sleep on the wooden floor (with thin mattress). However, the mattress was too thin for my daughter because she was used to sleep on normal, soft mattress. So she ended up sleep on the sofa... Breakfast and lunch buffet were quite delicious. There are kids playing areas for young children (kindergarten or below). The gym equipment looked quite nice, although I didn't have time to use them. The package we had included one night of hotel room, one dinner, one breakfast, and two-day tickets. I would say it's value-for-money.

  Spacious room

  Was there for a conference. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast has a good variety. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Will be good for family outings as there is a park next to the hotel, outlet shopping. Cater for both adults and children. Ideal for 1 - 2days getaway.
