  Not as advertised

  Just returned from a 4 night stay at High Mill. The view from our room (114) was ok and the bed was relatively comfortable. The room was small , with no place to put anything . They advertise flat screen tv's but we had a 12 inch black and white that didn't work for the first 2 days and then only had one channel which showed what looked like a Greek show from the '50's. Breakfast left much to be desired and we ate dinner there the first night which also disappointed. We were told things weren't available as it was the "end of season .". Would not recommend this hotel especially to anyone with mobility issues as it has a steep driveway to climb

  hotel and staff need help

  Some of the staff at the front desks were trying to be friendly, but they were dealing with a lot of complaints. Such as room location, hard very hard beds, running out of food at breakfast. We wouldn't even try their dinners because of the lack of service and food at breakfast. The breakfast staff just really did not want to be there! Our room had a wonderful view the shower was a little sketchy but worked. Overall it was clean, just tired and so was the staff. Did not try to order drinks as there was no staff around. When we ask about the key for the safe we were told that when we left the hotel to go out we had to leave the key at the front desks, that was not happening.

  Would not recommend this hotel

  Just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. Hotel staff were not friendly or accommodating. Our room was small and had no where to put our suitcases. Our bathroom had mold on the ceiling and was completely black around the tub. Our shower had no pressure and it took about 20 minutes to get hot water. We asked to be moved for health reasons but were told there were no available rooms. Our deck had a wasps nest, which staff did take care of, but must have known if they cleaned the rooms regularly. After being on an outing all day we came back to our room to find it not cleaned. When mentioning at the desk a staff member came to our room with a bucked and cloth and nothing else. The breakfast ran out quickly and not replenished. We had a 12 inch box t.v. and not a flat screen as stated in room description, that didn't work. The one positive thing was the view was fantastic.I would not recommend this hotel.

  Nice Stay

  This hotel was totally adequate. Our room was well appointed, even if the furnishings were a little older. There was enough room for the two of us and we enjoyed sitting on our terrace each night. The hotel is located on the top of a hill with a beautiful view of the sea. The bed was a bit too hard for our liking but the hotel was quiet, as was the air conditioner, so we slept well at night. The pool and gardens are nice. We found the staff to be quite accommodating and helpful. The hotel is located a short walking distance to town where there is are grocery stores to get some supplies. Also, lots of restaurants a short walk away.

  Not our favourite hotel

  We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and our room was OK but not great. The bed was hard and there hardly any chairs/loungers at the pool. The breakfast was very poorly serviced for such a large hotel. If you weren't there first thing in the morning it was iffy whether you would find dishes, cutlery or coffee cups as well as the breakfast items them selves. It seems to me that they were rather short staffed. I would not recommend this hotel in the future.
