    Quiet, friendly, and accessible

We really enjoyed our stay here. the staff was friendly, the room was quiet and very handicap accessible, and the breakfast was everything you could ask for. We had an issue with our bathroom sink leaking and it was fixed by the time we returned to the room. We will stay here again.

BAD customer service from One employee

I called weeks ahead to make reservations and asked (Due to handicap issues) for a room CLOSE to the elevator. I rented two rooms for our group of 6 people. (NOTE: I did NOT ask for a handicap room, just one close to the elevator so my husband and I did not have to walk all the way down a long hall due to the handicap issues.) But for us to be able to enjoy the pool etc, being close to the elevator is important so there is less walking. I called again the day before our scheduled arrival to check, yes-- they had our room(s) and still in the notes, they were to be close to the elevator. We checked in. The same person who took our original reservations and the call to check on them, checked us in. Pam. Once going to the rooms, we were sent clear to the end of the hall, and then way down another hall-- almost at full length away from the elevator. THE FURTHEST away possible. Once in the room, I called the front desk and she was willing to change our rooms but physically I could not walk down that hall again that soon and they had no wheel chair for guest use. (I guess I could have sat on the rolling luggage cart...) She admitted the notes were in the reservation about a room close to the elevator, and that someone who does the room assignment had failed to read what she had written on the reservations. (she could have caught the mistake herself though if she would have paid attention too). At check in, they did NOT have a 'map' of the layout of the hotel at the desk--- so she could show us where our room was located BEFORE we went to it or I would have noticed it was far away from the elevator! So we stayed in those room(s). She suggested that I speak with the manager in the morning as he would be there at check out time. I asked to speak with a manager in the morning at check out time, and no one was available. So instead I complained to the man/employee at check out. (I wish I got his name). He kept interrupting me, and raising his voice at me, being rude (I have 2 witnesses to verify how he acted). I said, if you would please stop interrupting me and listen to me. Then he raised his hands like I was holding him up--and said: I was "threatening" him. WHAT? REALLY? MANAGEMENT and HOLIDAY INN OWNERS: IS THIS HOW YOU TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES TO REACT to NON-VIOLENT ---NON- THREATENING customers? He looked over to see someone holding up their phone so maybe they were filming the discussion and immediately he changed how he responded to me. What a childish way to act in the first place. Really unprofessional. He then asked me what " I wanted". I told him my reason for wanting a room closer to the elevator, he told me it was MY fault for not getting the room closer to an elevator, as I should have asked. (did not I do that already?) So then he told me I had to also ask at check in (why do I have to be the one responsible to remind your staff over and over for what I need when I have already done that twice?). Why is the staff not taking responsibility for their mistake? This is NOT how to treat a handicap person(s) or anyone for that matter. I missed going to the pool because of the long walk. I suggested to him that the staff have a map at the front desk and show the person at check in where on the map their room is, that would have solved the problem. He told me no, they were not going to do that, it was still my fault and responsibility to ask (again). NO-My fault is "trusting" after asking for a need, checking on it once more, and then trusting YOUR staff would follow up and take care to do that for me....That is the part that is MY fault. I am saddened by the service at this holiday inn (I almost always stay at holiday inns) . The hotel here is very clean, very nice as far as comfort of beds and linens, but due to this ONE guy-- and his attitude and how he treated me-I will never stay here again when traveling this way no matter how nice the hotel is. (which we do travel this way for business and family often). Too bad, I was hoping to stay in this area more often. Oh! And remove from your website about serving breakfast when you don't any more. I understand due to the COVID, but since it is on your web site ---we assume its still offered.

    Good Stay

Room and site was clean and well kept. Check in and out was easy. No coffee available downstairs for breakfast due to COVID-19. Only issue during the stay was that some genius did not know how to use the Kuerig coffee machine in the room. Looks like they poured coffee grounds in the water dispenser. Could not get all of the grounds out of it a free running it 20 times.

Comfortable stay but really poor breakfast

We always stay in IHG hotels. This one had a comfortable bed as always and was clean. However, whereas some of the Holiday Inns since the coronavirus do a good job with breakfast, others, like this one are ridiculous. The clerk asked if we wanted a muffin, a choice or two little boxes of cereal, and a withered orange. My husband asked if he were getting a bag and he was told there were some on a shelf. Nice. When we were on our last trip, the hotel had a woman behind a bar and we were offered several types of fruit or fruit cup, breakfast sandwiches, muffins or pastries, several juices, a choice of six or seven cereals, yogurts, milks-- what the heck?? I wonder if after the excuse of the virus is gone, Holiday Inn will once again serve a hot breakfast. We hit the McDonalds on the way out.
