  Its an absolute hellhole of a hotel. 10km out of the city on a busy as hell thoroughfare, surrounded by petrol stations, drugstores, car dealerships, large factory outlets selling agriculture chemical products, and stores selling car and truck batteries. It's one of those brand new, but completely soulless places hastily slapped together, no doubt for the World Cup, using cheap tiles and other construction materials, with lurid hospital-grade fluoro lighting, and will no doubt be falling into disrepair within 10 years. I booked this place months ago via the FIFA Authorised Accommodation website, and have clearly made an error of judgment on this one. There is no restaurant in the hotel, nor is there somewhere to cook, and walking 15 minutes either side of the hotel, there is absolutely nothing in the way of eating establishments. I've found a little supermarket tho, and managed to stock up on junk food and beer. What's more, is that I'm here for 4 nights. Usually, what I would do now is to try and embrace the shitness and somehow revel in it, but there's absolutely nothing here worth revelling in.

  World Cup

  This place was ok considering I wasn't expecting much. Clearly constructed to cope with extra demand for the World Cup, sadly they'd missed a trick as it was sort of three quarters finished when we arrived! (Not sure when they'd ever need the space after the group games). It was safe enough, and had air conditioning, and the breakfast was ok. All in all I'd have been disappointed if I'd paid as much as I did anywhere else to be fair, but during the World Cup I guess anything goes
