    Decent for the price

We stayed at this hotel for 10 nights in the beginning of June. The weather was not hot, though mostly sunny, and the nights were rather chilly. Economy room 1A was in the semi-basement, and in such a weather dampness was felt within the room. Till floors added to that feeling. Though in the end of our stay, when the weather became warmer, it became better. The best thing about the hotel - friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We were provided with a simple set of plates and cutlery at our request, were informed by the hostess where to change money, about the nearest shops, and whenever we needed some more information - they were ready to answer. We were also informed that if we want room service - it is enough to leave a key at the reception. It suited us perfectly - we were free to come and go at our pleasure and chose the time for the room to be serviced in our absence. There is no curfew, you have a set of keys from the room and the outer door. It was handy when you return late from an excursion. There was no balcony, but in the inner yard there were large pots with flowering plants, like a garden, and guests can sit there at the chairs by the small table, and also dry swimming suits on a rack. In the bathroom there is a shower, which you would like to use pretty often to wash off the fine sand from the beach - it is very pleasant to lie on, as it consists of tiny flecks from shells, but it sticks to the feet and everything else. The shower is without any curtain, there is just a drain in the tile floor. A cloth to wipe the floor may be handy. Plumbing worked perfectly, water was hot at any time, unlike in some other places we visited before in Greece or Turkey. The room is equipped with a fridge, a tv, and an electric kettle. Wifi worked fine throughout our stay, but if you need to charge your tablet or laptop while using it - then you'll need a longer cable - 2 meters - as the sockets are by the feet of the bed. It is just 5 minutes from the beach, you can buy fruit on the same street on the beach from a friendly couple.

Bolero supermarket - 5-7 minutes. Old town about 10 minutes. Good and free wi-fi in the room - it was very important:) for us. harming garden on undergroud floor. Good value

Spotlessly clean, very friendly & helpful. A bit basic but great as a base. Air con in the rooms, tv & fridge. Breakfast not included but very central to beach, lots of great eating places & shops. 10 min walk to old town but right in the heart of new town. Recommend.

    great stay

We've just returned from staying at the hotel Chuchulev and we,re so glad that we chose to stay here. The hotel is run by a lovely family who are so friendly. We stayed in a deluxe room, which didn't cost much extra, It was a huge room on the first floor and was immaculately clean. The hotel is in the new town with easy walking access to the Old Town. Would definitely recommend a stay here

Lovely 3* hotel run by a very friendly family

We have just returned from our trip to Sozopol and have best memories of our stay at the Chuchulev Hotel. It is run by a very friendly family, all members of which are helpful and positive. The location was for us very good, namely a 5-7 minutes walking distance to the beach, a bit longer to the big Park and Old Town, lots of groceries, bakeries, souvenir shops and cafes just next door, and nevertheless it is peaceful and quiet. Our room (category Standard) was in the 2nd floor - spacious, clean, equipped with a fridge, TV, kettle and airconditioning. As it was north-east we escaped the heat and spent lovely hours sitting on the small balcony in the afternoon. Room service is by request, and sometimes it was necessary to remind the cleaners to bring toilet paper or soap, but in general everything was good. Breakfasts are served in a hotel nearby, for lunch and supper there is plenty of cafes and restaurants in town and on the beach. The sea was a bit wavy, but it can happen anywhere. The beaches (there are 2 of them within a walking distance) are clean and well kept, it is possible to rent a beach umbrella and 2 sunbeds for 20 levs, or an umbrella only for 6 levs. We took the whole set, as the sand is rather hot. We did not see shower on the beach, but there is a special device in the backyard of the hotel to wash the feet before entering the hotel. The backyard is small and cosy and full of blooming potted flowers - a picturesque view. A lovely 3-star hotel, can be highly recommended.
