  Not four star!

  This poor hotel could be lovely, but is surrounded with tacky cocktail bars & day trip boats, & is right in the centre of mass tourist tatt. (We are unsure of how they managed to get their website pictures of its classy, peaceful frontage!) Although it is comfortable, clean & everything was generally fine, there was a lot wrong with the hotel, especially as it's billing itself as 4 star. On arrival it was very loud & busy a around it. The double glazing kept most sound out of our room though, so we did manage to sleep. The view from our balcony was beautiful - if we looked up & out, rather than down at the prom/harbour. Whilst the hotel was clean, well presented & mainly comfy, we had a few probs, including: - the duvets we're hard, scratchy & heavy - not 4* - the loo seat was the wrong size & shape for the bowl, making sitting on the loo feel uncomfortable & somewhat precarious - not 4* - the sink plug hole couldn't drain - not 4* - the water was yellow, meaning the bath look very uninviting when run..., & drainage was a problem too - not 4* We were told the water was OK to drink, but we didn't risk it! - we were woken up to the sound of furious hoovering in the hotel at 7am on a Sat & Sun mornings - finding the hotel, & especially parking, was tricky & impractical, & no prior info/instructions were given & no help offered - not 4* - we got no offers of help with our baggage when arriving & leaving - not 4* - overwhelming smell of artificial pot pouri all over the hotel, inc in the rooms - yuck! - NO TEA at b'fast!!!!!!! - breakfast in general wasn't 4* There was little choice & control over what we had, nothing (except plates of pre-cut bread, & ready-portioned-up fruit) was fresh. The jams, juice, etc. were cheap & low quality, as were the cheeses. Meat & cheese was served on the same plate (although I told them I was vegetarian). The cooked "eggs" were horrendous! There was an overall air of meanness to the b'fasts - the service, from reception to restaurant had a distinct air of indifference & disinterest - definitely not 4* All in all this was just Ok, but definitely not worth the money, or 4* - there are many nicer places to stay in the island, & we won't be back, nor will we recommend the hotel or its location :-/

  Disappointing

  Mixed feelings about this hotel. The setting in Krk town is very central, on the harbour wall as the name suggests. The website photos portray tranquil scenes which can only have been taken at five o clock in the morning before the hordes of boat trippers arrive. In reality, the hotel is set in a really busy area with touting for boat trips and a strip of touristy restaurants which practically surround you. The hotel itself was clean but disappointing lack of attention to detail in the rooms. The room also had a balcony but was not really worth paying extra for as the view was a line of boat trip stands, with the attendants looking up at you from 7 in the morning until 10-11 at night (they work hard in fairness to them). Breakfast was disappointing as delivered to table on a trolley with with no real choice- just got what they had on offer which was luncheon-meat type offerings and easy single cheese - bit miserly. Croissants were tasty though. Service and welcome at reception was also poor and unusual to insist on payment up front as you arrive, despite having our credit card details from the original booking - not very welcoming. If you are driving be aware that it is difficult to find the hotel as it is in a pedestrian zone with the nearest parking on the street about 300m away. We had to ask a local where the hotel was and what the parking arrangements were. Overall would not return and could not really recommend this hotel.

  To expensive

  Like almost everything in Croatia this hotel is to expensive. It's very hard to find, there should have been a warning before. Service at reception was excellent. Breakfast was a major disappointment, no buffet, just a meager breakfast served at the table. There were no eggs or bacon served! The room is very nice and our room had a very nice balcony.

  Good hotel

  Enjoyed there last year. Probably the best hotel in Krk and position of it is amazing, right in center, near the sea. Also the food in restaurant is very good. Great place to be if you want to explore Krk

  Exceptional Hotel

  Not cheap but you get what you pay for and this hotel is more than full value and merits its 4 star hotel rating. The view over the harbour is stunning and every room has a sea view. The included breakfast is substantial and restaurant service equally exceptional. The rooms are very modern despite being in an older building and the AC is really effective - a must when it is 32C + (90F +) outside. Tara on reception was particularly helpful. One thing to note if you arrive by car - the hotel is at one end of a pedestrian only area, except you can drive through it to the hotel parking. But you must contact the hotel by phone when you arrive at the only access point which is just past all the motorbikes and scooter rentals and near the aquarium. The hotel will then lower the two bollards which are located right inline with a pedestrian crossing/crosswalk. You will get surprised looks from pedestrians as you drive very slowly to the hotel!
