  budget hotel

  I had checked out of a 5 star hotel and wanted somewhere to rest until my midnight flight. I visited the hotel the night before and was quoted 30 BD by the manager. On arrival the Filipina receptionist tried to charge me 40 BD. She agreed on 35 BD for my 8-hour stay. 1. Check-in Hotels in Bahain must take a copy of guests* passport. The Mirador hotel decided to keep my passport until check-out. I am a hotel guest, not a migrant worker employed by an Arab sponsor. I have stayed in Bahrain 7 times and have never had my passport taken by hotel staff. A negative first impression 2 Rooms The hotel has bigger older rooms with Arabesque red curtains and maroon carpet. The decor is very old, however the room was kept clean. 3 Swimming pool The hotel has a swimming pool on the roof and a steam room, health club (not appealing) The pool is small and clean. The roof offers a great view of Bahrain. The Filipina receptionist, did not explain any hotel guest facilities. I found out about the pool by accident when talking with staff in the coffee shop. The pool is small but good overall. 4.Coffee shop and Nightime bar The coffee shop has a Filipino band comprising a keyboard player and three ladies. The Ethiopian bar staff are are welcoming and friendly. The hotel also has a disco called the Miami. I didnt visit it. 5Food I did not eat at the hotel due to my short stay.. Summary The is a bottom-end budget priced hotel. The hotel's Indian manager is friendly. The rooms are acceptable, however do not pay above 35 BD including breakfast. I needed a taxi to get to the airport. One of the hotel staff went to the adjacent main road to stop a passing taxi. I appreciated this gesture. A basic, old budget hotel with no frills.

  A nightmare

  This hotel is a real nightmare, apart from youth who are looking for a place to meet and have girls for money, I don't recommend it at all. Dirt everywhere, no service at all, don't be tricked of what's written on booking, it doesn't have any facility, wifi is so weak and often down, no pool no gym .... Nothing. By night, you will hear noise coming from the street, from the hotel bar and from the the low girls' laughs just out of your room door. Don't be surprised if your door knocks at 6 am, but don't open too.

  F1 Weekend

  Traveled to Manama for the GP, this hotel was definitely one of a kind, not positive or negative but definitely an experience. Staff are willing but a little slow with the language barrier. The rooms are basic but the best part is I think there are about 3 clubs in the hotel so the sound is blasting well into the night.

  Good Hotel in the middel of Manama

  Valued hotel compare with the money. There is an outdoor swimming pool. There is a massage facility. Good WiFi. The reception employees are friendly and they gave me a complementary sea view room with fruits and water. Recommended hotel but the nearby disco annoying while sleeping.
