  Basic and cheap... Ok for one night close to the airport

  My husband and me needed to take an early morning flight from Bologna Airport. All hotels in the area were pretty expensive except the Olimpic, which I booked for the incredible price of 39 euro for a double room (no breakfast). We arrived at 00.30 and were checking out by 6.30, so our stay was very short. Our room was very basic but also very clean, the bathroom was very "old style" but for one night, more than ok. Staff at front desk was very nice and helpful. Parking was free, wi-fi for a fee, 3 /hour. Not luxurious at all, but, for such a price, we would surely go back again. Bologna Airport is 10/15 min. drive from the hotel (depending on traffic).

  Cheap, basic and dirty

  Stayed for one night. As we needed to be at the airport at around 5:30am we opted by one of the cheapest hotels around, but nothing justifies the lack of general cleaning of the rooms. Spiderwebs on the walls, dirt and dust on the floors, not so white linens... Although it's a cheap place the lack of cleaning prevents me from recommend this place.

  Not in Bologna

  If you are looking for a hotel on a major directory, this hotel will come up under Bologna hotels. It is not, however, actually in the city. You must take a bus (2-zones, so 2E) to Castel Maggiore, which is 20 min or so north of Bologna. Finding the bus stop from the train station is also a bit difficult, but it is out the main entrance and up two or three blocks under the arches of a covered walkway. You must buy tix before boarding the bus. The hotel itself was worth the price. The beds were okay, but the pillows weren't great. The hotel was quiet, though, and we got a good night's rest. Additionally, the shower was awesome and very hot. We did not notice any cleanliness issues as stated in other reviews - our room was very clean. There is no kettle in the room and our refrigerator didn't work.

  Ok for 1 night

  Should you be in Bologna for business in the industrial area or at the Fiera for an exhibition, well, this hotel is conveniently located, but should you be in Bologna for tourism, this hotel is not located in a proper area to get access to downtown. I have chosen this because of pricing/location. My single tiny room costed 35/night (breakfast incl). Air conditioning a bit noisy, bathroom quite small, nice bed, very little TV set. That's why I scored it AVG. Restaurant available.

  Conveniently located (for airport), yet suffering from poor management

  I've stayed here several times, for the sake of its location (walking distance from Castel Maggiore and not far from the airport.) It's spacious, with quite large rooms (even single ones) and really cheap (also because, being located outside Bologna, its customers are exempt from the city tax.) Unfortunately, the place suffers badly from poor management. One of the examples is Internet access. It's free (for ages), yet each room has a sheet of paper on the table saying it's 3 euros / hour, and nobody bothers to remove it (to reduce the usage, maybe?). Unfortunately, even though wifi exists at the hotel, it doesn't give any internet access half the time and the reaction of the managers is like this: 'our internet is working! ('yes, but you've got a wired access, it's wifi that doesn't give any internet access' - 'Oh ok, we hope the technician will come.') It seems like every tiny problem (which would be cured by just resetting the wifi router) is unsolvable without calling a technician (and since it's Italy, there is no such thing as an urgent summons of a technician.) Hence if you need a reliable Internet access, search elsewhere or arrange your own access (via 4G or similar.)
