  We struck gold in this Sutter Creek gem!

  We were a group of five for dinner. We got a warm greeting and liked the brick-walled dining area. Service was attentive, professional and timely. We ordered a fried brussel sprout appetizer that ended up serving all five of us with a nice portion and was delicious. My wife and I split a Red, White and Blue salad that was excellent and, once again, a generous size. Very fresh greens with flavorful ingredients. I went for the lamb shank which was delicious and served on a bed of tasty mashed potatoes. Another large portion! My wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo, which she liked very much. Our other tablemates enjoyed their food: Crab Louie salad (huge shrimp in addition to the crab!), chicken marsala. Hotel Sutter has a nice wine list with a great selection of inexpensive to higher-dollar wines. The historic setting of the hotel is excellent. Generous helpings, great food, great service made for a fantastic gem of a restaurant in a neat setting!

  I recently had dinner here and will definitely come back. the food was prepared perfectly. I had a steak that was the most flavorful I have ever had including the mashed potatoes and vegetables. I interacted with four of the staff people and found them all to be very friendly. Do yourself a favor and go here for a great eating experience.

  Very nice lunch

  Went to lunch at the historic Hotel Sutter. The cocktails were excellent and reasonably priced. Lunch was served promptly and exactly as described in the menu. Service was prompt and appropriately attentive. Highly recommend this restaurant.

  Great stay at a difficult day

  We arrived on Saturday 14th March, knowing we needed to contact our airline to get home early the following week. A warm welcome on a very wet day. The hotel is a one of a kind in an era of hotels that all look the same. The food was amazing especially the crispy prawns - and they were gluten free- result. I would love to go back in the sunshine and without the worry of the Coronavirus outbreak.

  Just perfect

  Great staff. Beautiful room and comfy bed.Loved the complimentary muffin and chocolates. Clean and remodeled. Not a lot of parking if you come to early. Other than that worth the stay. Youll definitely love the site.
