  A wonderful escape

  We stayed at Incantea for two weeks in August and it was everything we'd hoped for and more. It is cleverly designed to take advantage of the incredible view from most rooms and from the terrific bar terrace and pool area. As a family with a young daughter, we were concerned that it might not be good for kids, but instead it was perfect for her, with the great pool, playground, and friendly staff. The owners/managers (husband, wife and daughter) take great pride in the hotel and are available all day to help with questions or recommendations. The rooms are all nicely decorated, clean, and well maintainedeven in its fifth year of operation almost everything looks brand new. We had a 1 bedroom "Junior Suite" and it was perfect for a small family. There were pull-out (Murphy) bunk beds in the bedroom for our daughter and a large living/dining room with kitchenette and a sizeable balcony. We were so enamored with the space and view that we cooked and ate in the room much more often than we expected to. There's a small grocery store just a short walk up the road that sells everything you'd need to make a nice dinner, but also excellent homemade pre-prepared food for take away. The center of Tortoreto (Alto) is about a 10 minute walk and is a gorgeous little medieval town with plenty of nice restaurants to try. Evenings on the Lungomare (beachside street) will require a car and a bit of hassle (parking can be a nightmare after 19:00 and on weekends), but once you experience the view and the quiet of the hilltop you probably won't mind skipping it! The shuttle is easy to use for getting to the beach and the driver friendly and helpful with recommendations. The affiliated beach establishment (stabilimento or "chalet" as they call them in Italian) is called Punto G, and is highly desirable among the locals, although we found them to be unfriendly and the service horrible for lunch and dinner (slow, unhelpful). It is however a great stretch of beach with lots of space and two chaises + umbrella as standard. It's located centrally on the lungomare, meaning that it's easy to make a whole day of it if you want to stay for dinner or activities. We just wish Punto G had been a bit more family friendly (or just friendly at all, really). I speak Italian, so I can't rate their English, but it felt like some things would have definitely been more difficult at times, but always possible. Most of the visitors in August were Italian, although the owner told me that many Northern European visitors come earlier in the summer season, something we will definitely consider next year just to avoid the traffic. Even during the peak week of the year though, the hotel never felt crowded, busy, or hecticjust a beautiful and relaxing "home away from home" in Abruzzo.

  Wonderfull place!

  Very clean, good Breakfast , big appartment, beautfully decorated , wonderful people, very helpful with advice on the area and many places to visit in marche and abruzzo. We had some really good advice on where to eat . WiFi needs aproving but for the rest it was perfect!

  You know what I really liked? It was the fact that everything was just like it has been described. We especially enjoyed the time spent on the room's terrace with self-prepared dinner. Our stay there made the time spent on Tortoretto special. We highly recommend this place for a longer stay by the sea.

  Fantastic place. Nice and quiet with a spectacular view of the mountains from our huge terrace. The pool is nice and refreshing and the pool area is never crowded. We would definitely like to come back

  Perfect!

  My stay Incantea was perfect for my lifestyle. I enjoy immersing myself in the culture of where I am travelling, for example, cooking my own meals, being able to do laundry and have the comforts of home. This establishment is BEAUTIFUL & exceptionally clean (coming from someone who is on the verge of having a phobia of germs, this is a BIG statement). You have to pay extra for room cleaning which is the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars. It's peaceful, tranquil & the perfect distance from the beach or any shops you'll need.
