  EN AL KHOBAR LA MEJOR OPCION

  Para una escapada de un fin de semana, creo que es la mejor opción. Bien comunicado, buen servicio, mejor desayuno. Eso de no poder acceder a la piscina en familia es un defecto, no tanto del hotel sino del país, de modo que poca queja se puede plantear al respecto.

  Muy buen hotel

  Estuve de viaje el pasado mes de febrero´19, aunque conocía el hotel de mi anterior estancia en noviembre´18. En esta ocasión tuve oportunidad de conocer más en detalle algunas características del hotel. La entrada está muy bien lograda. El servicio es rápido aunque no es eficaz en la rapidez, sobre todo en la confección de facturas, pero el trato es exquisito y amable. Disponen de un servicio de desplazamiento al aeropuerto por 180 Riads, con gran calidad. Las habitaciones son confortables, de gran tamaño, con una habitación de recepción. Están bien insonorizadas y con buena calefacción/refrigeración. Las camas son de gran tamaño (2 x 2 metros) y muy cómodas. El baño esta muy completo con un buen surtido de complementos. Las habitaciones tienen una wifi regular de cobertura y algo complicada de selección pero muy bien para correo y conexiones no muy pesadas. Una gran TV con más de 60 canales aunque ninguno en español. El desayuno buffet deja algo descolocado. La calidad es buena pero no superior. Un punto a mejorar. La cafetería esta muy bien y la relación calidad-precio aceptable. En definitiva es un buen hotel que recomiendo para viajes de negocios.

  Luxury with a personal touch

  I would like to thank the staff for making our stay memorable. Although we only stayed a night, it was a welcome change in the times of this pandemic. First, we felt extremely safe with all the precautions and safety measures taken by the hotel. While planning a travel during COVID, safety is the priority. Second, each and every staff member was courteous and prompt. Third, breakfast spread had good variety and the breads and bakery products are a must try. A personal touch was added to the luxury when we were personally visited and taken care of by the head chef. Special mention to the manager Seejo (I apologise if I have the spelling wrong) who was in charge of the breakfast area on 29 Aug morning. He made us very comfortable and made sure the staff took care of our needs. I cannot end this review without mentioning the pretty little cafe on the ground floor - BAKER & COOK. It's a must visit.. do try their pecan tart, coffee, and quiche.

  Very Safe But Not Very Homey

  The Intercontinental Khobar has less than 200 rooms spread over 2 low rise buildings. There are many restaurants within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The lobby which is located in the first building is modern and medium size- nothing special that would distinguish it from other luxury hotels. There is one restaurant in the main building where a la carte and buffet is served and another café style (currently closed) is on the ground level of the second building ( standard rooms). The 2nd building has a plain, small land not very luxurious lobby with little or no atmosphere. Felt like a 2nd class guest staying in the 2nd building. The main restaurant, pool, fitness club and sauna (which my friend raved about) are all located in the main building. Check in was quick but not very personable. It seemed like the person was just going through the motions- like memorizing a script. It was very clean though with plexiglass between you and the check in person. There was minimal contact as you scanned your own credit card. The room was good size, well equipped, modern and extremely clean and 4 free bottle of water - 2 in the bedroom and 2 in the bathroom were provided/ day. The mattress was average and the reception on the TV went in and out. The bathroom was average size, with made in China amenities and a rain shower with good pressure. The free internet was fast and reliable. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11. There is a good variety but not as variable as the Intercontinental Jubail. The service is not consistent as the the 2nd morning was far better than the previous morning, The croissants were fluffier the 2nd morning but the omelette was better the first. During COVID, the staff serve you the food. There was fresh juices and fruit along with made to order eggs, waffles and pancakes. Like Jubail, the coffee is freshly brewed and is excellent. The service was not very friendly or no one ever smiles or says good morning. Only Sanjay ( the buffet manager- I'll give the Intercontinental Khobar an extra star rating because of him) was the first one to greet me on my last day. Upon checking out I was asked how my stay was and when I said just OK- that was the end of the conversation. I just didn't feel welcomed- very cold atmosphere. About 10 staff members passed a water bottle that was left in the lobby but no one decided to take the initiative to discard it. When I left 30 minutes later, it was still there. The Intercontinental Khobar takes the COVID pandemic very seriously as the hotel is extremely clean. Your room is sealed when you arrive and to enter you break the seal. Everyone is wearing masks and gloves. I really felt safe. Well done!! FYI, if you are going to celebrate a special occasion, I would avoid staying here as they won't provide you with anything extra. When I checked in, I told her it was my birthday and asked for a good room. She said that she'll ask a manager but she never did. Oh well, so much for customer service. The Intercontinental Khobar is a very safe but cold hotel. There are other more luxurious hotels in Al Khobar that make you feel at home.

  Great businesshotel

  Great business hotel with a good location. The staff is friendly and very helpful. At the breakfast buffet there is a wide range of food. Also at the restaurant the food is of good quality. I highly recommend this place.
