  QUINTESSENTIAL CALM

  I needed a holiday and had never been to Devon so, having reviewed what I wanted to see and do I set off to Ilfracombe and Laston House. This unassuming house sits on a plot of land between 2 roads leading down to the harbour. It was one of the first grand houses built there last century and has managed to retain it's original features throughout. The room I had was more than ample and had to large windows which gave me a 180 view towards to harbour and across the town. My room decor and furniture was in keeping with the rest of the house and complimented it perfectly. The bed was comfortable and boasted fine quality bed linen which was a real treat; finished with great pillows, you are guaranteed a great nights sleep. Because the house is old you will hear heavy snorers so pack ear buds. In the mornings, enjoy the superb breakfast range lovingly prepared by your hosts Abi and Greg. I was well looked after and they went that extra mile and recognised my birthday too - very kind. Oh and, they are even prepared to do a bit of laundry if you need it. Do take advantage of their wine selection too - they have great taste, If you want mod cons then this won't be the place for you but you will get everything else you need like a well stocked tea and coffee tray (with biscuits) in your room, luxury towels (that actually wrap around you) and enough plug sockets for all those unnecessary electronics we have all come too dependant on, and WiFi so, what more do you want! Just relax and unwind. Your hosts will try to help you :-) Oh, and there is free, on-site parking - a real bonus is this town.

  Great Stay.

  Just had a 4 day stay here. Lovely small bed and breakfast with comfortable en suite rooms. Breakfast was good, and Abby and Greg were really nice, very helpful and chatty. We walked part of the North Devon coastal path and their suggestions on starting points and eateries were very helpful. We ate in the evening at the pub (The Thatch) as the weather was atrocious!   Had a great time, well worth the money

  Abbie and Greg were the perfect hosts and they had a lovely breakfast between 8.15 and 9.30am. Full English and cereal to start. Booked a single room but due to circumstances got a double bed instead. Very comfortable bed and ensuite toilet with shower. View wasn't the best but that didn't mar my stay. Not far from Ilfracombe Town and a stones throw away from the harbour. Quite a few people in the other rooms but wasn't noisy at all.

  Charming House, perfectly situated

  Stayed here in September, the house itself was beautiful with lots of original features. The owners were really friendly, breakfast was superb (my other half definitely made the most the fried eggs!) with all COVID measures in place. Plenty of on site parking. The bed was extremely comfortable and we probably slept better than we do at home! Cute little pub 100 yards from the property and within easy walking distance down hill to the harbour.

  Great Stay! Lovely Owners!

  Stayed for 3 Nights here In July. COVID Measures in Place and was very quiet which I see as a positive. The room was beautiful however a bit outdated but just being picky! Huge room however and decently priced! Very near to the sea and harbour (10 min walk max ) lots of local businesses to support ( PLEASE DO!!) Owners were super welcoming and left us alone which was also nice in my opinion. Probably wouldnt stay again as prefer hotels to inns / b&bs (antisocial me lol) however I would recommend if you like conversation!
