Great location but a bit dated

This hotel is in a fabulous location in Chablis. It is surrounded by roads that have parking available however you can not park on the main street on a Saturday night due to the market opening early on Sunday. The owner of the hotel was very welcoming, she spoke good English and although our room was not ready when we arrived she was happy to look after our luggage until we could check in. The room we had was at the end of the corridor which we thought was good as during the night there seemed to be a few people walking around. The walls appear quiet thin and the door to the room didn't close completely it did lock but there was about a two centimetre gap so it did get a bit noisy. The bathroom was extremely small but we stayed for one night and it was fine for us. Just not much room to move and certainly not able to dry yourself as you get out of the shower. The bedroom was very big and the bed was comfortable. The décor was a little odd with stripes and flowers everywhere but all in all it was ok for EUR90. We would go back here just because of the location and we would only use it for a one or two night stay.

    Liked it

It is a small Town but it is really in a good spot close to the Main Square with restaurants, bars, winerys, boulangeries and so on..real cozy. It is old, as expected, with the charm and discomfort it sometimes bring. Nice clean room and very priceworthy.

    Quaint Charmer

Coming from Australia, the stone walls and old exposed beams were a wonderful surprise, in our beautifully presented suite. We (3 adults) were very comfortable and would certainly revisit. Thanks for a memorable stay.

It is centrally located in the centre of Chablis.

The hotel is very well located in the centre of Chablis. You can park you car and walk around the town. It is really a beautiful little town with the best white wine area in France. It is Chardonnay area. The people of Chablis are very friendly and helpful. The owner was very friendly and the breakfast was good. The Hotel inside looks a bit tired at present. I would rate it just average.

Gorgeous gite in the centre of Chablis

I stayed in Chablis for three nights at Les Vignes de Sarah. Because I had my dog I stayed in one of the gites that belong to the Bergerand Hotel. It was fantastic. A really super little place with every amenity apart from WiFi (but you go to the hotel less than a minutes walk away for that - also the only reason I didnt give this 5 star). There was a lovely double bed, kitchen area, good shower, little lounge area. Super comfortable. Theres wine in the fridge when you get there - admittedly you have to pay for it but they have a standard AOC and a Premier Cru Chablis - which is just want you want when you arrive. The hotel itself seems nice. Breakfast is served there at 10 Euros each time -bread, cereals, ham, eggs, cheese, fruit and yogurt - she let me have the breakfast for free which was lovely (probably because of the wine I consumed!) You can do a wine tasting in there as well but I didnt. The Grand Cru vineyards are just a 15 min walk away through a nice park so spent a couple of hours wandering through there. Chablis itself was very quiet, there arent many outdoor eating areas and people dont seem to congregate for lunch as they do in other French towns. Its pretty but I think one night is enough (I did three). Nice little place called Marguerite which is open until 8pm. On the river serving wine and meat and cheese - just a minutes walk from the gite. Overall would recommend this as a place to stay if youre visiting.
