  What a find!

  We recently spent two nights at this wonderful little manoir. Owned and run by a family with monsieur in the kitchen and Madame in charge of front of house. We have seldom had such welcome, lovely accommodation, perfect natural surroundings and absolutely superb food all in one (very reasonable) package. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are looking for peace, calm and serenity combined with wonderful food, comfortable welcoming rooms/suites and charming hosts. English spoken.

  this place is soecial

  We loved this hotel so much last year that we have recently returned, for four nights this time. Everything is still excellent, the welcome was great from Monsieur and Madame, we were back in the same room as last time so it was like coming home. The peace and serenity is wonderful, as, of course, is the food. Please visit this place before it gets spoiled.

  Mixed feelings

  The owners are nice people, but even though we have been nicely upgraded and the room was very spacious, it is very dark and old fashion. The next day our clothes were smelling until several days the smell of the room. May be this room is not rented often (quite expensive for what it is) and windows not open enough. The breakfast was too expensive. Seeing the other good reviews, it is may be better when getting a normal room (but they did not have anymore).

  Confirmed Reservation? DON'T BELIEVE IT!

  Having had a reservation confirmed months in advance we arrived at the property at 6 p.m. after an eight hour drive to find it gloomy and deserted. Rusting gates were locked and days of uncollected post was in the post box. No response to the bell or the hotel phone. Logis Central Reservations confirmed that we had a booking and connected us to the hotel proprietor who said he had no booking, no staff on site and was 300 kilometres away catering a function. He suggested we 'come back tomorrow'. So we were left stranded in the middle of a remote country lane with no bed for the night until Logis helped us out..

  Hidden Gem

  This was a spur of the moment overnight visit based on the reviews read elsewhere and the idea that Yann would cook up a treat on the night based on "Fish or Meat" for the main course and "Do you have any food allergies?"! We were not disapointed. Firstly, we received a warm welcome into the premises. The Manoir is very old and quirky but delightful. The room that we had chosen was well sized, a large, clean, bathroom and all the facilities. The Wi-Fi is free and good. Our evening meal was preceded by aperitifs by the large log fire and very tasty nibbles. The meal that Yann "rustled up" was wonderful. Only slight disappointment was that the initial wines that were chose were not available. Coffee and cognac back in front of the log fire - perfect. We will be returning to this gem.
