Great space and nature, to improve customer experience

Hotel has everything to thrive and rooms and building surrounded by nature is a gift. However, what was clearly missing is proximity to guests and some steril and disinterested feeling in the air. Some of management team was approaching us with complete disinterest, rather being concerned about their own schedule than guest experience. It is energy and genuine care missing so this place can be brought to more life.

Delightful hotel in a stunning setting

The Hotel Meisser is set in the traditional quiet village of Guarda in the beautiful Engadine Valley. The hotel has an idyllic setting and incredible views. Opening the bedroom curtains each morning to the stunning mountains was the perfect start to the day followed by the delicious buffet breakfast in the panoramic restaurant. The rooms are tasteful decorated and the beds VERY comfortable. The hotel is well run and Benno and Mayo make guests feel very welcome. Their staff are efficient, helpful and friendly. You can walk or snow shoe directly from the hotel door, with numerous signed paths up and along the valley. Alternatively the efficient Swiss trains take you up and down the valley to other pretty villages and towns. A true mountain hideaway. We had an amazing stay and can not wait to return.

    Lovely hotel in beautiful village

Guarda is perhaps the most beautiful and unspoilt village in the whole Engadine Valley, and this hotel fits perfectly - in its style, comfort and dramatic location. Each room is stylishly and individually decorated: some (like ours at the top of the main building) are modern, even minimalist while others (like our friends suite in the building across the lane) are historic, though still very comfortable indeed. High quality meals are served in the Art Deco dining room by friendly and well trained staff. The hotel is family-owned, and is consistently warm and welcoming. Benno and his wife are ever-present, and have a wealth of local information and advice. We enjoyed an excellent weeks winter walking, using local post buses and trains as well as routes from the hotels front door. This is certainly one of the best centres weve been to for winter walking. The whole valley is delightful, unspoilt and has numerous great walking routes. Summer walking here would be equally good.

Romantic hotel in the Swiss Alps

The location of the Meisser Hotel in the historic village of Guarda, amidst the spectacular Swiss Alps is absolutely wonderful. We spent one week in the "Romantic Hotel" section of the Meisser Hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. The room were comfortable and nicely decorated, the food was delicious. Guarda is a great starting point for many activities such as hiking, (e-)biking, golfing, visits of local museums, or just lying around and enjoying a lazy day. Thanks to the hospitality of the Meisser family, who owns the hotel in several generations, we spent a memorable holiday in Guarda.

Peaceful, beautiful escape with great food

The staff are friendly and helpful. Gorgeous setting including a garden with comfortable seating and swings and a breathtaking view over the valley and mountains. I stayed half board, and the dinners were some of the best food Ive had in Switzerland; local and fresh, but also inventive and varied. Should also stress that this village is incredibly beautiful but quite hard to capture in photos, so just expect to be surprised and delighted!
