  Very convenient

  It is just 2 minutes walk from Taichung station (not that of high speed train, but old station). The room is not big, but clean and well maintained. The breakfast is taken in an adjacent restaurant, and you have a choice among 4 or 5 set menus. In this category of hotel, it is quite satisfactory.

  Perfect Location for Boutique Hotel

  Located on the less car traffic/ quieter side of Taichung Train Station (south), hotel is literally few hundreds metres from the train platform. Seems the north side of station is where the majority of hotels are located. All very close to train station. For Mi Casa hotel, its important to look for the hotel signage. Once spotted, hotel is easy to find. It's down a dead end alley. Tip - as you go down the escalator (south side of Taichung Station) look up towards to buildings in front. You should see Mi Casa hotel sign. At the foot of the escalator walk toward building keeping close to the train line. 100 metres youll come to a laneway where more Mi Casa Hotel signs. 50 more metres and you've arrived. Simple 3 minute walk. The small rooms are small. Just 19sqm. suitable for single or couple with limited luggage. We opted for large suite. Just cos we have lots of luggage n we treated ourselves. Its 9th floor views were v good. Breakfast is choice of western meals. Breakfast is ok. Not a highlight. I would not stay in hotel for its breakfast. Breakfast is in the good sized ground floor cafe. Cafe service was 'odd'. I asked for a double shot espresso latte but was told that latte is single shot only. I then offered to pay extra but was declined cos "boss said we don't serve double shot latte". Odd? Yes! Staff are friendly enough. Effective but not interactive. Ok English was spoken. Reasonable amount of English TV channels. My rating is for hotel's location, quietness and cleanliness. There are a number of good (non commercial cafes eg Starbucks or 85 ) cafes within 5-10 minute walks. In Lide Street and another in Taichung Street (left off Fuxing St)

  Location can't be better!

  This hotel is right beside the Taichung train station - it can't get any better! It is also within walking distance to the popular Miyahara. Breakfast was provided for us - the only one in our 4 hotels during our trip. The food was decent, and in western style. The room was clean but small. We had a room with futons instead of beds but it was still comfortable. If you want more space especially for a group of 3, this might not be suitable for you.

  Great location and room

  Location: Fantastic, just right at the doorstep of Taichung Railway Station (not HSR, thats about 15mins away). Miyahara Icecream store a stones throw away to grab those IG shots with their sundaes and overpriced pineapple cakes to impress your colleagues/in-laws back home. A distance away from the famous Feng Jia Night Market but frankly there are others to explore nearby, without jostling with the University kids and other tourist crowds. Room: Room was small but able to fit a king sized bed, complete with comfortable pillows which offered a restful sleep. Bathroom has a huge tank to soak those tired legs/body. Best sleep Ive had for my entire trip across Taiwan. Dining: MiCafe offered decent breakfast which you had to pre-select upon check-in. Staff serves warm homemade bread and American brew. Ordered a second serving of latte/cappuccino. No regrets as it uplifted is the whole day. Not suitable for big families and the management should consider scoping the theme. A boutique hotel for couples only wouldve been better, given the size, location and vibe of the establishment.

  OK stay at Mi Casa

  Booked for 2 nights at Mi Casa Hotel. Location wise it is near Taichung Station. Not HSR, you need to transfer. So a plus point only if you are planning to move around Taiwan via TRA (local train) in the later schedule. The happening area is at the Fengchia Night market so you can either take a taxi or Uber.. should be less than NT200 The lobby is located at the back, past the Mi Cafe. The cafe will serve you breakfast, you have to pre select your breakfast set (not buffet) Rooms are a tad small, even when compared to Taipei, but you do get a balcony of your own and some view if you are high enough. Convenience stores are round the corner along the main road, taxi stop is also there so getting around is not that of a problem. We booked a day taxi to get to Sun moon lake and other attractions. For sleeping it is fine but try not to expect too much at this price point - its alright.
