  Great location

  We came in 2016 as a couple. The hot water wasn't working at first in our room, but they fixed it soon enough. The reception staff were extremely friendly, which was a big plus, and spoke good English. Most annoying thing was the Wi-fi didn't reach our room, despite it having what appeared to be a router in the room itself. Mornings were also loud with temples/mosques calling for prayer. We didn't use the pool or anything but it's a fairly small hotel. By far the best part about the hotel is its location - walking distance to the heritage walk and close to Armenian street. Also close to Little India where there's some great food. Hawker centres aplenty nearby (within 10mins walk) with fantastic food at ridiculously low prices. Don't expect great amenities but it's pretty good value if you need a place to rest and relax for the evening.

  Clean hotel in the midst of town

  I booked the family duplex which comes with 2 double beds. The room is clean and has the basic necessities. The lower floor has a toilet and the upper floor is the full bathroom with shower. The aircond was powerful enough to cool the huge room. They don't provide any tea or coffee sachets but you can purchase it from a 24-hour convenience store a few doors away, or visit any cafes within the vicinity. They have a swimming pool in the courtyard but it's catered for young children. There is no lift as it's a heritage building so those with knee problems just take note. I would recommend this boutique hotel if you're looking for something smack in town and need a clean comfortable place.

  Disappointing

  Stayed for 3 days , the room was clean and tidy apart from hair clogging shower drain which we had to remove. Its in a great location but can be noisy at times if your a light sleeper. The girl on reception staff have no interest in helping you could not even direct us to a laundry service we had to google to find one.

  Such a let down

  Pros - amazing location, just walk away to khoo khongsi, cheah kongsi and all the street art that always being used for selfies -big room, comfortable beds and great lighting Cons - we have jacuzzi in our room but it didn't work - we have complicated and super sophisticated shower but it didn't work - so we end up using shower in our jacuzzi.. Errr - They have no idea about hospitality at the first place. There is only 1-2 people on the lobby even then they only chat to each other - they don't clean up rooms unless u give them the keys because they said they have no keys (which is totally a lie because they can put mineral water that also needs to be reminded in my room) Overall, if u want to stay in good hotels, don't choose this hotel. If u want somewhere to sleep in a great area, this is place to be.

  Acceptable, enjoyable

  Reasonable hotel for the price you pay. Mil the Boutique Residence gives you decent value. The family duplex is pretty worth it, comes with 2 queen-sized beds and 2 toilets. One toilet has a shower while the other has a bathtub. The rooms have 2 storeys and are quite spacious and generally quite clean. There are a few hiccups here and there which should not surprise you. Check-in was delayed by almost an hour as the room was still being "cleaned". The bathtub is also quite hard to use, as the hose is short and it has no curtain. Furthermore, the water drains extremely slowly. The wifi is quite unreliable. Also, the hotel has practically nothing in the way of facilities, if that is what you are looking for. The staff are quite friendly and helpful (if you need water just ask), and it is easy to walk from the hotel to nearby destinations. Overall, a good hotel for the budget traveller!
