  Worst place I've ever stayed!

  We were just looking for a place to pull over and sleep for the night....it was going to be 10 pm on arrival. This was the end of a 15-day road trip and we had spent a ton of money on lodging so thought we'd be fine with a budget motel on this last night. Big mistake. First, the rooms were smoking. It was so bad. Everything we brought in reeked of smoke later. The smell was unbearable--we all kept our shirts over our faces. The mattresses were disgusting and old...sinking in. There was no mattress pad and the sheets came off and you were touching the mattress. There were no blankets. Just the disgusting old bedspread & a sheet. The pillows were also disgusting and OLD. They were SO flat and even folded in half were not comfortable. The bathroom was gross, there were brown cigarette stains everywhere (I hope that's what they were). I did a no refund reservation through this site so I was stuck and I'll never do that again. I work in tourism and closely with those in the hospitality industry. I know people well that own franchise motels/hotels and what is required to keep them up to date. I thought I'd be safe with a Motel 6 franchise and I was mistaken. Our room looked little like the ones in the photos on this site--and I regret not taking photos of the room but I couldn't wait to get out of there! Even the TV was an old big box TV. Maybe it's the whole town but the water smelled & tasted like dirt. I couldn't even brush my teeth. The whole experience was horrible. You get what you pay for.

  Just fine for an overnight stay

  I stay at Motel 6 frequently when traveling cross country, because I often just need a bed and a shower. I know they are no frills, and they are very affordable. This location is clean, with friendly staff, and close to restaurants and other amenities. Reading other recent reviews here, maybe all the rooms aren't updated yet? In my room, everything worked, and it was clean and comfortable, and updated. Microwave, fridge, door locks worked fine, which is often a concern at some properties. Convenient parking, quiet. Lobby even has a computer for guests to use. Morning coffee was pretty good, unlike some other locations. My only complaint was that the bed was too firm and pillows were flat. And the shower curtain was a bit threadbare.

  OMG

  Man o man what a dive. Hair in tub, smallest room ever. It didnt help that Amarillo West had just spread manure. Very rundown. Bed was up against the heater ac unit. I slept in my clothes. No coffee pot in room was unbelievable.

  Over priced for what you get

  Room was 'okay'. Crumbs on the floor but the sheets were clean. No coffee pot, no coffee served, pool closed. Hard to check in due to the bullet proof glass you have to shout thru. The A/C kept me up all night but too hot to turn it off. I wouldn't stay here again. I must say though that the cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. We asked advice on local parks and they really helped us out with a great recommendation.

  Room is older

  Room was clean and in good repair, however you can see it's age. Drywall has numerous repairs, tile and walls don't fit well. I guess the one bother was they use a sheet, blanket, and top sheet/cover on the bed. The blanket is really thin and has no insulating value. I usually like a cool room but I was cold. Had to turn up heat in room. Room had to be uncomfortably warm to compensate for thin worn out linens. I don't think there was a mattress pad under the thread bare sheets. The room was clean and everything worked fine. I like being able to park outside the door. The sound of I-40 was not that bad but there is a fire station about 100 yards away and a few times the sirens were pretty loud. Recommend going to the east side Motel 6.
