  Fabulous place, view, location

  Visited for the second time this week, and again struck by how fabulously well situated this small luxury complex is. A 100 meter walk from the restaurants and shops of Combloux, with staggering views right across the valley to Mont Blanc, this new development is a fantastic place for a break with the family. We stayed in a Demi-chalet, In this case property C 31. The owners have specified a double room with ensuite bathroom and a twin room with sole access to its own toilet and shower on the top floor, and a double with shower en suite plus a twin with its own toilet and bath on the lower floor. In the middle there is a large, spacious and light living room, open plan to the kitchen and dining table. Its hard to stop looking out of the full length windows to the view of Mont Blanc directly across the valley. There is a wraparound deck with table and chairs - covered in the eaves so you can still sit out if its snowing, or blazing sun. The decor is contemporary while still feeling Savoie - lots of wood and luxury. The kids loved the games room where they met other teens, and the pool/hammam/jacuzzi is welcome after a day on the slopes or hiking in the summer. Lovely being in the warm pool looking at the winter scenery. Its good to have a car - C31 has its own underground parking space plus two boot lockers with heated boot driers - to make the most of getting into the Combloux and Megeve ski areas, but there is a regular ski navette up to Cry-Cuchet. One of the best things is how close to the village the chalet is. Once out of the chalet there is great accessibility with lifts to get you up to street level (the development is on a slope and the chalets are at the bottom with uninterrupted front row views!) and down the road into the lovely Combloux with its beautiful church and enough restaurants and shops to keep everyone happy. And Megeve is just up the road. We will definitely be back!!

  Great ski spot, entrancing mountain views

  This residence is very well located between three amazing ski areas, all of which can be reached easily by car or on the free ski bus from outside. The residence is right in the village of Combloux which is very charming. Great to be able to walk to bars and restaurants in the evening and enjoy looking around quite an unspoilt little place with lots of character. The apartments, chalets and the reception area are very attractive, nicely decorated, everything looks new and there is a good area for children/teens to hang out. Very nice pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, although this can get crowded in late afternoon time at the end of the ski day. Chalets, situated further from the road than the apartments, seem very peaceful and we thought they were definitely worth the rental. We stayed in C31 which was brilliantly laid out - four big bedrooms, all with good bathrooms, and all with views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding farmland. Nice big kitchen/living room with wrap around deck also faces the view - plenty of space for us and the family who came with us. Apparently this is the only unit with a washing machine in, although we also saw a laundry room for guests use in the main residence building.

  Superb, roomy demi-chalet with fabulous views

  We have just spent a long weekend with friends in demi-chalet C31. The accommodation looks brand new with 4 excellent sized bedrooms and 4 bathrooms over 3 floors. All bedrooms have fabulous uninterrupted views towards Mont Blanc. Our double bedroom was on the bottom floor and had a large ensuite shower room. The living/kitchen area is open plan with a large dining table and large windows with panoramic views, the decor is stylish and modern. There is also a large terrace perfect for summer dining. The accommodation has a spa including a swimming pool and jacuzzi. There is also a stylish lounging area near reception. We had free underground parking and access to ski lockers on the ground floor near reception. It is just a short walk into Combloux itself and its various bars and restaurants and the ski areas are easily accessible via the bus or a short drive to the (mainly) free car parks.

  A true second home from home

  We stayed a week at the hotel. The staff was very helpful and sociable. We were not sure if we would manage to arrive during check-in time so we called them and they solved the problem. The location was the top one, with a perfect view from the hotel to Mont Blanc. There are nice restaurants within minutes from the hotel as well as some boulangeries (where we bought freshly baked croissants in the morning) and a mini supermarket Casino (there is big one only around a 6-7 m. drive from the hotel) Another huge advantage was the closeness (a 5 minute walk) to the waterhole biotope (a natural swimming pool with a direct view to Mont Blanc). Only 5 EU pp per day and you can leave it to have lunch and then return for another swim. We found the town of Combloux excellent for hiking trips. We took one, covering 12 km over the hills and that was tough enough. Combloux is a perfect place to go on sightseeing tours around (around 30 min to Chamonix to visit Aiguille du Midi and Montenvers mer de glace). As for the hotel itself, it consists of apartments and chalets. We lived in a one-bedroom apartment. When we entered our apartment after a long tiring car journey, we found the bottle of wine and a cute souvenir on the table. What a promising start! Our car was parked in the underground parking which was super as those 7 days in Combloux were unusually hot. The apartment was a very light one, clean, with a fully-equipped kitchen (no meals at the hotel). We had a huge balcony where we had breakfast each morning and a glass of wine in the evening. The bathroom and the toilet were separate, the rain head shower was spacious. We went to see the indoor swimming pool in the main building and we liked it, however, with nice weather outside we didn't use it. We will definitely return to the same hotel and highly recommend it to other tourists.

  Nice, but not 4 star

  A place an agent booked for us who had been told by the business it was 4 star. Whilst the facilities are great and a fantastic location and close to slopes by free bus, we turned up to a room with no bed when we were meant to be in a twin room. While I suspect the agent probably didn't look properly when booking despite what she was told, no accommodation should have 4 stars when the only sleeping arrangement is an ikea sofa bed. There were no alternate rooms and refused to refund given the misinformation. We also found the proprietor very rude on more than one occasion. Disappointed given despite this it would have been a wonderful stay, but skiing all day and coming home to sharing a small foam mattress with a mate for 4 nights is not fun.
