  Lovely 1st break to Isle of Wight

  Great location for us, train station is a 10 minute walk away, the train will take you to Shanklin and Ryde. Owners were very friendly with lots of info of places we could visit. We did check in early which was great for us. We didn't use the pool but it did look lovely. Fridge in the room with tea/coffee and milk-thank you. Adult only was great for us, a lovely break. We would recommend the Yarbridge Inn pub/restaurant over the road, book well in advance.

  Noisy and uncomfortable

  The beds are horrific! Felt every spring and when I asked for a topper I was told maybe I should bring my own if my back was bad! I actually dreaded going to bed. On top of this when you actually get to sleep you are woken by people in next room as toilets and showers actually shook the room as so noisy as they are not the plumbed in type. Additionally I could even hear the next room having a wee in toilet! I felt it was more a b&b for workmen. Nice to have glasses and cold water downstairs and pay for what you need. I would rather stay where you can walk into a village with something there or views. Pool nice but would rather comfy bed as many comments agree

  Every thing and more...

  Cannot fault, really personal service and a very laid back feeling.... I was made to feel really wellcome, air conditioning in room, mini fridge, bespoke tea and toiletries and the most comfortable bed ever...very quite with a pool and hot tub..... You can really unwinding complete peace here....and adults only which is high season is a plus..... Thankyou

  Ticks all of the boxes!

  Good central location, friendly and very helpful owner, on site parking, comfortable, clean and spacious room with kettle & mini fridge, excellent external facilities with outdoor pool and hot tub, perfect to relax after a long day exploring the island. Great value for money and great little pub / restaurant opposite!

  Mummy's first holiday minus children

  Arrived at Oaklands House and was greeted by the lovely owner Jan. Explained all the facilities that were available and was so friendly and welcoming. Have felt like I have been at a home from home. Being my first holiday without the children, I was apprehensive but with the heated outdoor pool and Hottub available for use until the evening and just a lovely, relaced atmosphere! There is even a selection of board games for lazy, cosy evenings! Will definitely be returning again. Thank you Jan for an amazing, relaxing break away from home.
