  Comfortable and relaxing.

  We had a fabulous week staying at McAlpine House in Broome. Marilynne and Ronaldo were exceptional hosts, extremely knowledgeable about tours and what is available to do in Broome. We stayed in a Garden Room with our own courtyard. Lovely comfy king size bed and a spacious ensuite. A secure car park was available for our vehicle. Breakfasts were delicious and it was great to mix with other guests at breakfast and chat about our travels. Lovely gardens and a pool, plenty of outdoor space to sit and relax. Easy walking distance to a few restaurants and town about a 20 mins walk. Would highly recommend a stay at McAlpine House.

  Lovely old property

  We enjoyed our stay here after the demands of driving/camping the Gibb River Rd. We are a little conflicted about the hotel given the price they charge. The architecture and ambience is lovely and we liked the shaded verandahs and the fact there were lots of lovely places to sit. Breakfast with other guests was fun and the quality of food was good. You can walk to a restaurant in 10 mins and its an easy 20 min stroll into the centre. The owners/staff are friendly and informative - thanks for the suggestion we visit the Aborigine Womens collective to buy fabric. Downsides? The library which is on the second floor and adjacent to the library rooms isnt a library and when we were there seemed to be a storage place for boxes and detritus. The tables by the pool werent cleaned daily and so were dusty. We were asked to change rooms after our first night as there was a couple coming for five nights and the owner wanted to give them the better room. That really shouldnt happen when you are charging at this level. So, I would recommend it because it is a lovely place to stay but I think that some aspects need tweaking.

  Outstanding venue and first class service

  We held our end of year staff function at McAlpine House catering for 50 people. This venue is the epitome of Broome history with large open areas around a beautiful swimming pool. The catering was outstanding by the hosts, catering for a variety of food requirements. The rooms are clean, neat and very comfortable. Thank you to all the staff of McAlpine House ... we will be back!

  Mc Alpine House, Broome amazing!!!

  We were stranded in Broome due to a flight being cancelled at 8pm. It was peak season and there was very little accommodation available. We called Pinctada Mc Alpine House, Broome and got what I can only describe as fantastic service from Rinaldo even though it was after hours. That service carried through the whole stay. The room we stayed in was the Mc Alpine suite and that needs to be experienced its old school amazing. Great stay will tell everyone about and will be back. George

  Exceptional experience and perfect location

  First visit to Broome.. we are used to travelling the world and always prefer to stay in small boutique hotels for special and unique experiences and were a bit disappointed with the selection of large resort style hotels on offer in Broome. Thank heavens we found McAlpine House. Everything was perfect. Room super comfortable with great air con.. we had one of the new Garden suites but the heritage style rooms looked beautiful too. Pool was quiet and gorgeously warm. Breakfast was exceptional - every day the most beautifully crafted breakfast selections served to us. We felt so welcome and spoilt under the loving care of Marilyn and Ronaldo. Learnt a lot from them about where to visit. Spent most evenings at Matso's which is just a 5 minute walk from the hotel. So much better than staying near Cable Beach as you have easy access to town. We felt we were in our own private luxury home and enjoyed everything about our stay
