    Clean, comfortable, good location

Having read the reviews, I was dreading arriving at Igoudar. We needn't have worried. We arrived very early due to public transport but were allowed to stay in the hotel until the room was ready. The staff were very helpful and checked us in early. We were given rooms 921 and 922 which were both very clean and had very comfortable beds which is all I had hoped for. The room decor is old and basic but you get what you pay for! We slept with the windows open and heard no noise at all. If you want a 5 star hotel experience then there are plenty of 5* hotels nearby. We didn't use the hotel pool as it didn't look too appealing. We had family staying at the Tagadirt, which is the sister hotel a few minutes away so used this pool instead which is much cleaner and looks nicer. All in all we had a lovely few days stay at Igoudar. All of the staff we encountered were warm, friendly and welcoming. If you want a basic, clean, comfortable room which is just a 10 minute walk from the beach, this is the place for you. If you are expecting luxury for budget prices, go elsewhere.

    Disgusting

Upon arriving at the hotel and taken to our room. We found that the fridge had been turned off. There was water all over the floor and the smell was terrible. Got a different room where there was no water on the floor but still stank. We thought if we air it that it would be ok. We stayed the first night all the windows open but the smell was still there. I went to make a coffee to find that the hob didn't work. The crockery was all chipped and dirty. The bathroom walls were covered in damp and all the enamel had come off the bath tub. The electrics were unsafe switches hanging off the wall. Bathroom sink had a big crack in so water ran straight over the floor. I went to reception to request another room but befor I got there I noticed a dead rat near the pool which I may add was very very dirty with things on the bottom of the pool. I told reception about everything including the rat and they could not care less. At that point I decided to book another hotel. I wouldn't let a dog stay in this hotel. I never go away for comfort but this place should be shut down

    Just terrible.

Visited this place in August 2022. Was a bit worried when I read the below review that it was closed. I called them and they said they were open so decided to bite the bullet and go there. In normal circumstances I would pick hotel but due to dietary requirements of a family member we decided on a self catering apartment. The other reason for picking this was due to the proximity to the beach. Was only 5 mins walk as we planned to spend most our time there. We arrived late in the evening and the place was informed of this, however when we arrived a big group of us the staff seemed surprised. It took almost 1 hour to find us the rooms we booked. Before checking in I asked if I can view the rooms, good job we did. The rooms were disgusting. Toilet not working. Cement all over the place like it was falling apart. It smelt of damp and was just awful. The floor soaking yet and the bath dirty. No cooking utensils and no wifi. We have family in Agadir so we decided we would stay with them and go back in the morning as the Member of staff said he would allocate some other rooms. In the morning we went back only to be given the same room. It was a joke. The man at reception explained how the hotel had been closed and the owner just one day decided to open it up even though the rooms looked like a bomb had hit it. Only one person spoke English. He was good enough to cancel the booking without charge. The hotel seems to be busy but with locals and maybe they think this type of accommodation is ok, we certainly did not. Never again. Being the middle of august it was hard to find a budget friendly hotel. We were lucky enough to stay with family as they had a big enough house. I did visit the Intouriste and Tislet. These had lovely rooms with lovely grounds. Overall the Ougadar is a no no and Im sure in its heyday it was a great place as it does have potential but to be honest I dont think its suitable as it is. The staff tried to help the best they could and were quite embarrassed with the situation. For us. Never again. Also they place only takes cash, no card payment. Luckily this didnt spoil our holiday in Agadir as it was wonderful and the people are so friendly and hospitable. Will visit Agadir again but not the Ougadar apartments!!
