  If one wants to stay in a totally Chinese environment, this is the place. The reception staff doesn't speak English, but they do their best to communicate (with the help of a translation app), and there is also a telephone number to an English speaking manager. The rooms and the bathrooms were quite ok, although the carpets need to be changed (they are quite stained). The corridor could also do with some renovation. The beds were really very good (but the 3-bedroom consisted of an extra large double bed). Toiletries are included. There was a water boiler in both rooms. Bottles of water, beer, instant noodles, sewing kit etc. were available in the rooms and could be purchased at a low price. Air condition worked, and so did the wifi - and the hairdryer. We didn't hear much from the other rooms (isolation seems to work pretty well), but we could sometimes hear voices from the corridor. There was a slight smell of cigarettes in one room the first evening, but that quickly disappeared, even though we had booked smoke free rooms. (Not sure about the smoking policy - there are both "smoking forbidden" signs in the hotel, and ash trays at the same time.) Quite a lot of traffic noise, esp. in the morning, but pretty ok with windows closed and air condition on. The girls in the reception were kind and smiling and did what they could to help us. The location is good, and we always felt safe, also at late night. Lots of small, local (street) restaurants and shops in the area. 5-7 minutes to underground/metro, 10 minutes walking distance or less to the technology shops, 20-25 minutes walking distance to the financial (and more exclusive shopping) area. Very big park not far away. Fuming street is small, with a lot of big trees. In the southern end there is a small shop that sells coffee (quite unusual) and in the other end a small park, where we used to have our morning coffee. The area is lively, but friendly, with a lot of bikes (some of them even drive into the lobby, quite exotic!), a lot of people working outdoors (mending shoes, cooking etc), children playing, families or friends playing board games and so on. We seemed to be the only foreigners. I am not sure if the inner rooms have windows (quite common for budget hotels in China), but our rooms had special curtains to keep the light out, and this was also stated when we booked. We chose the deluxe rooms. As the hotel is cheap, our expectations werent high, but we were actually quite happy.
