  Fabulous get away

  Me and a friend spent a week here, great staff very clean hotel, the pool and beach definitely worth spending time at for me the only bit of the holiday that was not 5 star was the food but I never went hungry I am just a fussy eater I wouldnt hesitate to come back here for my next holiday the hotel activities rep was outstanding always busy keeping everyone happy this hotel has more Germans then English people but not a problem for us lots of sun beds !!! Definitely 10/10 guest relations manger very helpful when I had a problem at end of holiday lovely lady GOKTAS BILGN see you next year

  Side old town is beautiful

  Hi we are staying at this hotel now on the 1 / 10 /20 in a sea view room, the hotel is very nice situated on the beach and about 20 minutes walk from the old town of side, the view from our room is stunning over looking the pool and sea , our room is a bit small and a bit dated, it could do with upgrading to be honest but it's very clean as the house keeper does a brilliant job , the tv in the room is a waist of time unless you are German as there is only one English Channel which is the BBC world news , the beach is very nice but if you want a Sunbed, you need to get up at 5.30am to put your towel on your sunbed as the hotel is full of Germans who get up very early to claim the pool beds as well as the beach beds, the food in the hotel is very good. The entertainment at the hotel is ok, the staff at the hotel are great always friendly not like the guests lol most old and miserable we are in our 50s and feel young here , all I can say is very nice hotel, great staff too many Germans and old ones , the hotel doesnt really cater for English guests, drinks at the bar are just ok , would not give the hotel 5 star but a good 4 star as the rooms let it down , side old town is stunning, but they do drive you up the wall trying to get you to buy stuff you don't want ,I would come back to side yes but maybe a different hotel , hope my review helps you kind regards lee and fiona from Great Britain

  Good hotel

  Lovely hotel to stay at - for what you pay it definitely does the job. Room is standard, very clean and comfortable, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The pool is nice, and we particularly loved the private beach - note that you need to get the sunbeds early! The animation team try to be engaging and enclusive, and some entertainment nights were better than others but we did really enjoy the Cuban Circus night. There were lots of cats around the hotel and in the streets nearby, although they seem well fed and looked after. I must note that the food was on and off - some nights there were great options and it was tasty, other nights not so much. Lots of restaurant options nearby, but be weary that you will try and get dragged into them when you walk past. Regarding COVID, you must wear masks around the hotel and wear a glove at the buffet, as well as spraying the sunbeds with disinfectant at the end of the day. Apart from that there is no social distancing. Note that when booking through TUI, make sure the app is working and be aware that the Rep doesnt offer much around the area and tries to sell you the most expensive excursions, which are not always what you ask for. Overall its a very clean hotel with friendly staff and in a lovely area.

  Lovely hotel

  Stayed here for a week in sea view room. Very impressed with cleanliness, facilities and staff, who were always friendly and remembered your drinks order. Every inch of hotel was spotless, cleaners were very thorough. Food was ample and always a good choice, Im quite fussy eater but always found something delicious! Desserts were gorgeous. Lovely walk into Side old town, dont miss Appollonik bar next to temple of Apollo, fantastic little bar and so friendly. You do get pestered waking in town by vendors but we found if you wear face mask they tend not to bother you. Gorgeous hotel and location and we will definitely be back!!

  Fantastic 2 week stay - just what was needed

  Reception staff were friendly and very efficient during check-in; needed to fill out a form concerning COVID, which only took a few minutes, before being shown to our room. Reception's high standards were maintained after check-in; everything we asked for was delivered within an hour (extra pillows, items the maid hadnt replenished, etc.) Rooms are really good: Comfy beds, modern stylish decor, decent size TV, plenty of storage space, kept clean by daily maid service. Free safety deposit box. Mini-bar stocked with beer, still & sparkling water, range of soft drinks (Coke, Fanta Orange, lemon, Sprite, iced tea) and tea making facilities provided. Decent bathroom; shower temperature can vary a bit when on full, but was fine when scaled back a fraction. Balcony isnt the biggest though; but room 121 has great views of pool & sea. Hotel is decorated tastefully throughout, kept sparkling clean, and well-maintained. As are the grounds. There are three pools; the main pool, a smaller pool, and a kids pool. Sunbeds surround the pools, and were taken fast even with the lesser occupancy this season; sunbeds must be like gold dust any other year! Location is excellent: overlooks the sea front (sunsets are not to be missed!) with a path straight onto the front promenade, which if you follow left out of the hotel will take you to the old town within a 20 minute casual stroll. Food was good most days: we started off impressed with the food but as the hotel got busier we did note the standards slipping a little; what was one day a beautiful piece of turkey was a dried up husk the next. The standards did pick up towards the end of our holiday after a brief lull but we felt there wasnt much variety and one days meal merged with the next. Plenty of choice of drink available at the bar, but service varied; some waiters gravitated solely towards those giving tips Im not against tipping, but I believe the policy should be to tip for good service received rather than tip to get service! Entertainment was decent most nights; highlights being a one-man band with a looper, a band on White Night, and dance act/belly dancer on Turkish Night. White and Turkish Nights see the outside area tastefully decorated with banners, balloons and a fountain in the pool. Suppose I should talk COVID briefly; hotel temperature checks you on the way in, baggage is disinfected on arrival, complimentary masks and sanitizer given on arrival, masks must be worn indoors, increased bar service, chairs cordoned off to ensure distancing, and gloves are provided in the restaurant to help yourself to food. Personally I found it worked well, and most people had no problem observing and complying with the measures. I felt much safer here than in the UK! Tip: Ask for prices in Lira, everywhere you go, Euro prices are always inflated! Even in the hotel: late check out would have been £5 higher in Euro to Lira for the same room! Thank you to all the staff at Side Star Beach hotel that made our stay fantastic overall, it was a much needed break from a gloomy 2020. I would love to return, and highly recommend the hotel.
