  Incredible view, fantastic rooms, superb food

  We've visited Hohen Hahn twice, once in 2002, and back again in 2012. It is a pristine property, with beautiful rooms (at least the one we stayed in). Surrounded by tall evergreens, and with a commanding hill top view of the surrounding valleys and meadows, it is inspiring. Clean mountain air in the Erzgebergs. Both times we went, we attended a banquet there, and they put out a fantastic spread, especially the meats. Great wines. Fine bar. Helpful and friendly staff, however their English is limited but adequate. To the locals in this region, this is the finest place to put up visiting friends. You will love it.

  A good choice

  In the hotel we spent three nights and we greatly appreciated his location and the immediate surroundings. The hotel is built in the beautiful countryside of the Erzgebirge Mountains high above the valley outside of human settlements. It is perfect for guests who prefer a quiet and relaxing place, not a hilarious nightlife. Each day in the evening we sat on the terrace till late night with a bottle of a good wine and in the morning with a delicious breakfast in the morning sunshine. Just lovely relaxing ambience. There is no elevator in the hotel, which was not a problem for us, but for elderly people with limited mobility, it might be. The room was spacious enough with the standard furniture, including a minibar. There is a nice indoor swimming pool in the hotel, with, however, only few chairs around and it was not enough place there where to sit and relax. For guests with half board were prepared buffet style dinners. The food was not bad actually, but at the 4* hotel I would expect served dinner a la carte. Breakfast was rich and delicious. Helpful and friendly staff.
