  Wouldnt stay again

  About 2/3 of the hotel is timeshare and the rest regular hotels rooms. We had a double queen, partial view hotel room. On the plus side, the location of this hotel is good. Its across the street from the beach and within walking distance of the village. Our room was clean but in desperate need of a remodel. The mattresses were very worn and the bathroom not only was dated, but the workmanship was poor as well. The shower was not powerful at all. Luckily the air conditioning unit had a fan we could leave on to drown out any traffic noise. The Wi-Fi was really weak and not powerful enough to attend a work zoom call during our visit. The hot tubs were closed due to Covid. The hotel did offer breakfast, which had quite a bit to select from (waffles, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee). They also had beach chairs, umbrellas, and body boards for use, but supplies were limited so we had to check back multiple times before securing items. Next time Im in Carlsbad, Id pay a little more and stay at a more updated property.

  2020 Fall Stay at Tamarack Beach Resort and Hotel

  Our Tamarack Beach Resort and Hotel stay was very enjoyable. It has an excellent on-the-beach Carlsbad, CA, location and is clean with a courteous friendly staff. Our stay was what we needed and every bit what we had hoped for.

  Thanksgiving 2020

  We stayed from 11/22 to 11/29 at Tamarack. Weve been coming here for over 20 years as a family. We love eating at Harbor View fish restaurant! And all the family cant wait to eat there too. This time was just 2 families ( less than the recommended 10 group gatherings by CDC) I really missed being with everyone : ( We ate at Park 101 ( Awesome, but expensive) We ate at Cessys great Mexican food. The Starbucks there is fast and the employees awesome too! The sunsets are the best. Cant wait for our Thanksgiving trip 2021, and try the E-bikes and do the Coaster. The COVID-19 made everything alittle more inconvenient. But its just what we needed to get some family & Beach time!

  No masks, no social distancing. Crowds shoulder to shoulder even in winter.

  Amazing location ruined by yahoos flouting any basic Covid common sense. Stay away unless you want cooties. Large groups of people at restaurant in building eating and drinking with no regard for others. below is photo of restaurant protesting rules. See sign in photo where they basically say they dont care about obvious Covid risks.

  Perfect!

  Tamarack Hotel was everything I hoped for. We spent 3 nights there, and everything was perfect. We had a nice view from our partial view room. Everything was spotless - our room was extremely clean, and they were constantly cleaning the common areas. Housekeeping was so friendly and willing to bring us anything we asked for. I hope to be back!

  Tamarask on the beach

  The location was fabulous, right on the beach. The staff was courteous, check-in was quick and easy. The unit was clean and comfortable. So much to see and do at Carlsbad. Thank you everyone at Tamarask.

  Excellent location

  Excellent location. Very nice unit overlooking the ocean. Love the sunsets. Walk to everything. Only downside is California has become very, very expensive so be prepared to spend a lot on everything.

  Dolphins from the Balcony

  Yeah, really. If you're into watching dolphins from your balcony, this is the place to be! Great beaches, awesome location, and the views were ridiculous. Hot tub felt good after walking all over the place. I closed all my apple rings and don't think I moved the car at all after arriving. Staff was nice and friendly, and it was an all around wonderful time. We live 15 miles away, and couldn't believe how much fun we could have this close to home. Totally hit the 70 degree weather in mid December too. No complaints at all. Beds were comfy, rooms were spacious and quiet, and the place is in a fantastic location. Across the street from the beach with restaurants, bars and shopping all over.

  Nice Hotel Across From The Ocean

  The room is spacious and nicely updated. Our room also had a small patio with partial ocean view. There is a small refrig and a convenient microwave. The ottoman bench, at the end of the bed actually came in handy to place items on or sit and put my shoes on. The hotel had placed robes there upon our arrival. There's plenty of space for clothing. The bathroom included a nice dressing area. There's a secure enclosed parking area with direct access to the interior of the hotel. A pool and 2 spas are located in the courtyard. Beach access is directly across Carlsbad Blvd.
